  1. Your not alone. I was 1 week liquids, 5 weeks purée, 4 weeks soft. 10 week check up today and just graduated to life style diet.. I was upset too that my diet didn't move faster but I feel the doctors have there reasons from experience. Had my first salad tonight.. Yeah! Be patient ... Time moves faster than you think.
  2. So today I had my 10 week checkup and according to the doctors scale I'm down 45 lbs (with clothes and shoes on). 4 lb difference in my favor from that fancy new scale I just bought! HA- take that fancy new scale!!! But the great thing is, tonight I get to try salad....oh how I've missed you, you delicate pieces of green leafy goodness! Please be kind to my pouch tonight. Plus I just planted an organic salad bowl on the deck. Yum!!!

  4. I know... I'm not sure if she was serious or just trying to make me laugh ... I think stress is causing my lack of weight loss this week...
  5. As soon as I got home and every morning after that. Some people weigh once a week or only when the see the doctor... I weigh everyday ... It just works best for me.
  6. Wow ... I had a super stress filled day at work today.... Then the traffic coming home was crazy! All I could do is think - I need a glass of wine a smoke and maybe a nice piece of chocolate! None of which I had but man, if someone offered me any of those things at this very moment ... God only knows! So then my lovely phi theta kappa honor student daughter says... Maybe you just need to smoke a joint. Lord help me lol!!!!

  13. What do you take for joint pain / arthritis? I see my doc next week for my three month check so will ask then. I really miss Advil and Tylenol is like taking nothing for me... Humph!

  15. I hit the big 5-0 today!!!!!!! I'm so excited to be half way to my goal. It's 5:15 am and even the birds are singing outside my window.... Happy Day!
  16. Chin up dear... I also had surgery 2/26 and gain 2 lbs last week and lost them plus two more this week... Our body fluctuates, stress, muscle gain all can contribute. Stay positive you can do this .. Your a Mother!!!! Mom's can do anything! Lol keep your wheels on girl . We are here for you... Today is a new day!
  17. I'm in ny with bcbs min was 4 months start to finish an they counted my previous diet attempts and weight with the doctor. Also depends on which procedure you choose. I chose gastric bypass so I don't have to loose weight before hand and my i was 41 so I couldn't really loose just maintain. It was the easiest surgery I ever had and would totally do it again. Down 47 lbs in two months. My skin is looking pretty good and I'm 50!! Lotion lotion lotion!
  18. Funny I was just reading an article yesterday about hctz and bariatric surgery and it said that on only rare instances patients stayed on hctz after surgery.
