  2. BMI finally under 30!!! I think I can, I think I can!
  3. I bought an age appropriate two piece bathing suit!!! (it has the little skirt bottom) My husband loves it!
  4. I feel fortunate that my husband jumped right on the weight loss wagon once I had my surgery. One, too support me and two, because he to needed to loose weight. To date I have lost 70.7 lbs and he has lost 30 lbs. We both use My Fittness Pal and Map My Walk to help us along and keep us motivated. While we have only been together 10 years, we have seen our share of emotional and health related ups and downs. I was hospitalized 3 times two years ago for diverticulits, colon resection, mersa, and a fitula from the colon to the badder and my husband was diagnosed with stage 2 Prostate Cancer at age 47. I think we both felt that death was knocking on our door and we just weren't ready for that. This year has been a rebirth for both of us. Our children are happy and healthy, the youngest will be going off to College in January, our eldest just got a promotion and a girlfriend, and our middle daughter and son-in-law are expecting our first grandchild in December. 2013 has been wonderful to us. I can't wait to see what the second half of our life brings us. This forum has been so supportive to me as well. I look to you all for inspiration. You make me realize that I'm not alone in this journey...Thank you! I'm a happy girl!!!
  5. I never thought I'd hear myself say, "can I just get past the 190's". It's all good. Thankful for this gift of bypass surgery and my new life. 180's here I come!!!!!
  6. Soooo, next month I decided to go to my high school alumni cheerleading reunion (yes I was a cheerleader). This is something I never would have gone to before... I didn't even go to my 30th high school reunion (yes, I'm 50). Even though I'm not at my goal weight, I have gained so much confidence. I'm excited to go! Yay!
  7. Ok... Tape measure was much nicer than scale... Lost 3 inches overall since June 24. Tape measure is my new BFF! Scale--- You really need to work on our relationship!
  8. Well despite being very nice to my scale and walking 15 miles in the past 3 days, my lovely scale showed a .3 lb gain even though I took a nice poop before hand!!! ( sorry tmi). Off to befriend Mr. Tape measure.
  9. While out on my walk today I got whistled at by a passing car! Whew whew!
  10. Please scale I promise to be nice to you... Please, please show a loss!!!
  11. Macy's.. Calvin Klein size 14 and 50% off
  12. I'm finally starting to see the difference ... Yay!
  13. Most of us experience that. Especially when you are in the low 200 I think it happens more often that not. Im almost 4 months out and this happens to me frequently. I excersise (walk) every other day and on the days that I excersise I'll say to my husband, "bet I'm up a pound tomorrow"! Sure enough, up a lb this morning. I don't know why, maybe I am retaining water on those days. All i do know is slow and steady wins the race. I am really happy with my slow weight loss. I only had large weight loss numbers othe first week when I lost 10 lbs, other than that its been 1-2 lbs. Be patient and continue with your plan. FYI - I noticed when I added weights to my routine I broke my stall oh, and I also notice inches are melting faster than weight at this point!!! Best of luck
  14. I spoke too soon... Noticed hair in the shower this morning.... Sigh!
  15. Just wanted to say I smoked for thirty years... Oh god 30 is so long... Well I quit to have the surgery and I really didn't think it was going to work . I had quit several time and nothing stuck. This time I had acupuncture. It was amazing. I quit after the first treatment and had three total. It was like magic!!! Anyway I just wanted to comment that I miss them too but I'm so happy not smoking now. With the money I'm saving my husband and I will be going to Ireland and Scotland for the honeymoon we never had!!
  16. Well at least they know what it is and are addressing it. Hopefully you can move forward with a plan to avoid reoccurrence. I hope your not in to much discomfort... Take care! ????
