  1. That's not normal. Mine were never black. Is all your doctors to be safe. Don't assume anything at this stage. Better safe than sorry.
  2. Good luck!! I'll keep you in my prayers!

    Emotional day today

I waited 3 years. Went through the approval process only to find out that 3 months later and several thousand dollars into it that my insurance pulled the surgery from their plan. I was pist! But I pulled myself together and hired a personal trainer determined to lose the weight on my own. After all, surgery isn't a cute, it's a tool. A tool that doesn't necessary work for everyone. Start now "pretending" that you've had the surgery. Follow the ore and post diet process. It's doable, not easy by any means, but you will lose weight, look and feel better. It will also prepare you for surgery when you do have it and in the end you will be a lot more successful for it. Good luck!
  9. You're not alone. I had the same problem. Try using www.myfitnesspal.com to make sure your ratios are in check. The higher your protein, the better and more weight you will lose. Once I started walking 30 mins a day and really focusing on what I was consuming, I started to lose weight again. Btw...Before surgery I had a top notch personal trainer. He said start with one protein for every carb you eat for two weeks. Then go to 2 proteins for every 1 carb you eat for a week and then 3 proteins for every 1 carb you eat for a Mac of 3 days. I promise that with or with out surgery you will lose a ton of weight doing that!!! He also said if you have ANY fat on your body then it's because you have too much sugar in your diet. It's a fact. He said no more than 6grams of sugar per meal. Your body doesn't have the ability to get rid of more than that so it stores it. My old doctors philosophy was cut the 3 s's!!! No sugar, salt or starch and you are guaranteed to lose weight. Of course all of these things are easier said than done, but if you ease into it (baby steps) and start to make it a lifestyle, you will lose weight. It's a well known fact that losing weight is 80% diet, 10% genetics, 10% exercise. Make it your New Years resolution to work smarter, not harder.

    100 pounds lighter!

That's amazing ladies...Congrats!! How are you doing that so consistently? What is your diet like each day? (Foods, total calories, proteins, etc) Are you working out? If so, what are you doing and how often? Any issues with sagging skin? Thanks in advance for the tips. I'm only 3 weeks out, but I'd be over the moon to lose 100 pounds in 6 months!!!

How is your weight loss coming along? I gained and lost too. It's got to be water weight though. Are you tracking your protein, carbs, calories? How much water are you drinking? Walking at all?

I've been told to avoid soy.
  13. If you can follow your doctors orders you will have great success. After a month your craving for carbs will go away.
