  1. Thank you. Its just head hunger. It takes a while to get over it. I think it took me like 2-3 months to get over the head hunger. Everytime i walked by the fridge i'd open it and grab something, for no reason at all, just a force of habit. Once you break the habit it gets a little easier. Best of luck and congrats on your journey
  2. My hunger pains stopped the day i had surgery and i havent had one since. Do i miss food?? Thats a hard question to answer. There will be days that i see a commercial on TV for something and i'll think about it but other than hat i stick to the foods i know i'm good with. I never feel deprived of food or feel like i'm missing out on anything. I dont miss the foods that i can no longer eat anymore. Once in a blue moon i'll try something i know i shouldnt, get sick and vow never to touch it again. It keeps me on the right track. I've been my exact same weight for 3+ years and i feel amazing
  3. Keep your head up and stay focused on getting healthy
  4. Thank you and best wishes to everyone on their journey
  5. You look awesome. I'd like to get some of my extra skin removed but all the friends and fam say that its not needed. I guess you do what makes you feel happy. Congrats on looking amazing.
  6. Best of luck to everyone
  7. Thank you. Thank you. That's right... do what makes you feel good. It doesnt matter what other people say or do. As long as youre happy thats all that matters.
  8. Pasta and certain meats like ribs are off limits to me. Hamburger is fine (bc its ground up). Sugars are a hit and miss. Sometimes ill dump sometimes im ok but i ALWAYS feel crappy after eating sugar. I stay away from fried foods but i am ok with eating them. Im good with rice. I also dump on protein shakes. After doing the OptiFast liquid diet 3 weeks prior to surgery the site and smell of a shake just makes me sick but in order to get my protein in they want you to do the shakes. I've tried and cant do it. I do B12 shots every 2-3 weeks and i'm perfectly fine. I do my bloodwork every year like clockwork and everything is spot-on. FYI. Sugars and sweets should be on your never touch list wether or not they make you dump. Its been my experience with talking to many many post-op'rs that once they started back with the sweets and junk food that they're weightloss momentum diminished and that was the turning point for gaining all their weight back.
  9. Yes. I still dump after 4 years but the episodes are few and far between now. During the honeymoon period i was dumping almost every day. It was hard to adjust to small quantities of food. Finally after 3-4 months my brain finally got the message that eating too much or certain food was no good and the desire to eat more than the 2 bites was gone. Pasta still kills me to this day. Im Italian and i cant eat pasta. It doesnt bother me to not be able to eat it as you would think. Every day i watch my family eat some form of pasta but every once in a blue moon i'll give it a shot and i dump. No matter what kind f pasta it is... whole wheat, spinach, rice pasta, egg pasta... i dump every time. There also is th every rare case when i eat too fast and i will dump. I find that I can eat chocolate now without dumping but i stay away from it except for Halloween lol. I can eat about 1-1/2 cups of food at a sitting. My favourite snack is one slice of Whole Wheat bread toasted with margarine and sometime SF jam. That fills me up perfectly. I can eat 2 slices of bread now at one sitting. ANd i can also drink water after eating my meal... something that i could not do right after surgery and was really troublesome for me as i take meds for a back problem. When it came time for my meds, if it didnt go down with the first gulp of water i was in trouble and had to wait 20-30 mins for another chance in getting that pill down. I cant do it without water, i'm a baby.
  10. Thanks Karlam. There is light at the end of th etunnel. Just stay focused. It comes faster than you think
  11. Thank you Thank you. In the summer i do a lot of walking... even jogging. Up to 15km a day. In the winter I hybernate (i live in canada). I have maintained my weightloss for 4 years now... give or take 5-8 lbs. I actually like to excercise now but if i dont i dont think that i would gain any of it back. I still watch everything I eat and even tho i'm 4 years post-op i will still dump if i eat somethig that i'm not suppose to. Thats a rare occasion now tho.
  12. Thank you and good luck on your journey
  13. Thank you. It was a life saving operation. My life has changed dramatically for the better.
  14. Ya... it reduced a lot of stress to my back as well. My posture is better and im in less pain. I'm happy. Thank you
  15. Yup... pretty much immediately after surgery. In my first post-op summeri was walking 5-6km a day and brought it up to almost 10km a day by the end of the summer. Nowadays my summer walks are around 13-15km a day and i love it. Right after surgery I had a ton of energy... still do
  16. Thanks! Great job. It feels great to be healthy. Merry Christmas
  17. You will. Just remember to stay focused. Eventually you will re-teach yourself the proper way to eat and you will end up living a long and healthier life. Best of luck
  18. Whats the most most amount of skin you would allow yourself to have before you had a tummy tuck or panni? Would you rather use a wrap or would you want to go ahead and get that extra skin gone and be done with it? I have extra skin but friends and family say its fine and not to bother with it. I tried the wraps... i find them very unconfortable. I like to go shirtless in the summer but the same time am not too crazy about all the jiggly. Any men have a breast reduction??
  19. Hello fellow members: Anyone have trouble with kidney stones post op? I produce Calcium oxalate stones. At one point I was passing one a month. Ive since gone down to one every 6-8 weeks. Anyone else the same problem? Ive seen numerous specialist, tried a bunch of treatments with no help. The common theme was drink more Water... as most of us know is very difficult at 3-4 months post-op. Some of my treatments include Potassium Citrate, diruetics, mass doses of calcium and of course lots of water. The majority are small stones... 5-8 mm but they still hurt like a b****. Ive had larger ones. I passes 4-5 stones in the years prior to surgery, immediately after surgery i started passing every month. I was warned that that may be the case but chose GBP anyway and would still chose it if given the choice today. Anyone in the same boat as me?? I have a YouTube vid of my journey if anyones interested. Look thru my profile. Santino P
