  4. Good Day fellow members. I'm from Windsor, Canada. I started my journey at 350lbs. I am almost 4 years post-op and RNY has been the best decision of my life. FaceBook: Santino Pirrone Check out my YouTube video here:
  5. You CAN do this. I wont lie... its not easy, but once you set your sights on being a healthier person and dont look back you will be sitting at your computer posting the "new you" pics in no time. You will go thru plateaus... dont get discouraged, the weightloss will start back up. Continue with the new eating habits, dont revert to old habits and you will be a completely new person.
  6. Thank you. Its not easy but if you take it one day at a time it helps

  10. I bet even with an open incision and the extra recovery time you still recommend the surgery and have no regrets. You will live a longer and healthier life. COngrats
  11. Thank you and good luck! Happy New Years
  12. I have found that there is some loss. I take meds for a back issue i have. The effects of the meds dont last as long but you learn your body and you learn how to accomadate. Its nothing that would stop me from ever having this surgery. You have to adjust your meds accordingly. Talk to your surgeon about it. Also, a person 1/2 the weight will need less dosage. So you will have to adjust your meds as you shrink down.
  13. Thank you very much and congratulations. Stay focused. A good life is coming your way
  14. I havent had my extra skin removed. I have extra skin but i hide it well. I'd like to have my skin removed in the future.
  15. Thank you. Life after bypass is so much better. Thanks for all the support and well wishes.

More than likely a kidney stone
  17. Women should take Biotin. It helps prevent hair loss. The only suggestion I can give you is to stick to what your surgeon tells you to do. They are the expert. If you have issues dont be afraid to ask them. Dont force food down. Take small small bites and chew chew chew. Getting food stuck is not a good feeling. And most important, enjoy your new life to the fullest
  18. No. I hide it well. I do have extra skin tho.
  19. I dont. Some ppl do. If you take small bites you will be just fine. You have to re-train yourself on eating. Old habits have to change
  20. MOST of the time it works itself down eventually but there are times that you may need sugerical intervention. I have friends that have had to have food removed. For me, its steak. Steak always seems to get stuck no matter how small i make the piece. Hamburger im fine with, steak and ribs im not.

  22. After surgery eating habits have to change including how much you eat and how big of a bite you take. This is especially the case right after surgery. Getting stuck refers to when you take a big bite of food and not chew it properly. Steak is a good example. If the piece is too big and you dont chew it enough, that piece will go down and get stuck in your pouch, not allowing other food to go down. Most of the time you will throw it back up but sometimes it gets stuck and nees to be removed surgically. Its rare, but it happens. Ive had things stuck. Its not fun. You cant get anything down, not even water. Its painfull too. Moral of the story, small small bites and chew chew chew
