    I hate fish..need suggestions

Hi~ A really good fish to try is boneless salmon and a really easy way to fix it is to put it on the grill on a piece of foil and sprinkly LOTS of Old Bay Seasoning! Season it all, put the skin side up and then flip it over when it has grill marks underneath. Sprinkle with more Old Bay and grill the second side! Tuna and swordfish and shrimp are also good this way! Honest! If you don't like that, there's always Hollandaise sauce, or a creole sauce (tomatoes, peppers, spices). Hope this helps! Joan

    Its almost here! EEEEK!

Hi New2me! I too will be in your shoes very soon and already feel like you do today. I keep telling myself that I don't want to be out of control with food any longer and I don't want to be unhealthy. But you are so young you will have even more benefits than I! Don't look back! This is your time to succeed. We are all behind you! Joan
  6. I have the same problem. I find myself doing great and then WHACHAM! They have said that exercise can replace eating, but when I am emo, it's too late! Walking early in the day for 15 mins helps me feel good about myself and that helps the brain think positive thoughts. But again it only helps. I would like some advise on this too if anyone else has some input.

I am sorry I am not a woman of color, but your group was the most active and I want to be part of a group that has emotion! Will you accept me? If not, that's ok I understand.

    I'm P'ed OFF

I'm Joan and have been pre-op for 2 months. I need to loose 30 lbs before I can have my Lapband Surgery. I have a very close friend who had it a year ago and she has lost 100+ lbs and looks . . . .beautiful! I want that too, but have an internal conflict with myself about my ability to do this. I've had lost 18 of the 30 lbs and have regained 4 lbs while really trying to do well. I'm walking and journaling and I know it can be Water retention (I have been adding salt to cooking lately). But it seems that I am where I always get to on every and any diet program I ever start! Down 15, up 15+. I am afraid to give up because I hit 282 lbs when I finally got to the doctors doing just this. Down 15 lbs, up 15+. Over and over and over again! Some days I am so positive and excited about loosing weight that I feel that I don't need the LapBand. Other days I want to eat everything and anything and my mind tells me it doesn't matter because I can't succeed. I can't even begin to eat Pasta because once I start, I will eat the entire box! Here's my question. If I eat because I like the taste, not because I'm hungrey, will the Lapband stop me? Some days I feel so in control and others like a giant slug! Joan

    Researching the Lap Band

    Researching the Lap Band

Hi Alice~ I am new too. I have my first appointment in VT on Wednesday, Feb 13. I am excited and nervous at the same time. A friend of mine and I were going to do this a year ago and I backed out. She now looks unbelievably fantastic and here I sit, bigger than ever! So. . . . I've finally taken the first step: sent in the paperwork and had the blood drawn. Now I have my first appointment and find it hard to believe I will be able to do this. Still, I will give it all I've got. Joan
