Thanks GC.... Good to know My surgery was Dec 4th so I'm a little past the 6 wks, but I've been doing a lot of cardio ( Treadmill and Elliptical). I've noticed that my stamina has increased which I'm amped about.

GNC has an iisolate Protein that has 23 gr of Protein and they have some great flavors. Cookies and Cream and chocolate are my favorites. They have some other flavors that I plan on trying soon. Yesterday I tried the Syntrax caribbean cooler and oh my was it horrible. I tried the Fuzzy Navel the other day and that was decent.
Forgot to mention the GNC drinks are very very low in carbs and sugars which is perfect for me.

I love using Pandora and Iheartradio

I'm about 7 weeks and hit the big 50 last week. I've started to walk and do the elliptical daily and hope to tone this flab up. I can't get a straight answer on when I can start to using weights.

I guess every surgeon doesn't it different. My 5 day pre op liquid diet was to drink Glucerna drinks 3 x a day for 5 days and then the day before the surgery I had to drink the nasty stuff that basically cleans you out.

Not sure if that much Protein is good right after surgery. I did the SF Carnation Breakfast drink for a few days and then once I was given the green light to start on pureed foods I started with a Protein Shake. Syntrax is good and I started drinking the Isopure at GNC. It's 23 grams of Protein with very very low sugars and carbs. I go with 12 to 14 oz of ff milk and a scoop of powder in a Blender Bottle. It's great as a Meal Replacement. It curbs my appetite. This is what I've been doing and it seems to work well. Not sure if it matters but I'm a guy also.

My surgery was 12/4 and I've gone down 5 pants size and 2 different belts. Close to going down another shirt size. Can't wait to start to really wear the good designer stuff. I have a North Face jacket sitting in my closet that I give another week and should be wearing it without any issues.
I must have donated at least 5 bags of clothes to the local church.

I use plain Fage Greek yogurt and flavor it with various sugar free Smuckers jellies and jams.
This has been a life-saver for me!
I tried this the other day. Wegmans Greek Plain with SF smuckers strawberry and it was pretty good.

I also have tried the Syntrax as well. Both are very low sugar and carbs and high in Protein. I've been mixing it with ff milk and haven't had any issues so far. I'm 5 weeks post op.

Yeah it's a great monitor. Did you get the cream also. Better conductivity then the monitor on your skin. Better readings basically.

Here is an article I read some time ago about WLS and alcohol.

I had my surgery on Dec 4th. Only thing I experienced was some discomfort were my incisions are. Other than that I really never experienced any severe pain or any nausea. To me it feels like nothing ever changed although in reality my eating has changed quite a bit. Defiantly I have no regrets at all!

I'm 3.5 wks post op and survived quite well. Christmas Eve I was able to enjoy a shrimp and some tilapia which was soft enough for me to chew enough and swallow. Christmas day I was able to enjoy a meatball. I had mashed up 2 and added some sauce to it to soften it up a bit and was able to enjoy probably 1.5 of it until my pouch said STOP!!

Just need to take it easy. Your going through a serious surgery. In due time you will be able to pump Iron.< /p>

So how is everyone doing on there new life? Things for me are going really well. Donated about 12 pairs of pants to the local church the other day. Shirts and shorts are next.
As far as food goes I'm still on pureed. tuna and hummus or mayo(yawn). Cottage cheese, started Wegmans greek yogart and its went down well but only was able to eat 4 oz. Tried Ricotta with a little sauce and it was actually good. Tonight going to try FF Refried Beans and some FF Sour Cream.

Figure 4-6 weeks from what my doc told me. You can walk to get some exercise in.

Good info to know. I to am missing sushi big time and chicken Pad Thai. I can live without the Pad Thai since it's mainly noodles. But sushi is something I def am missing. Dec 4th was my date and will probably give it a try in March which will be 3 months out.
Anyone here shop at Wegmans and hit up the Sushi bar. Just wondering if anything will work from there. I do know they have sashimi.

Surgery was Dec 4th 2012. Started at 364 and now down to 253. I'm 3 lbs from my first goal. Next is 220. Just not sure if that how much more I should lose.
Key thing for me has been exercise. I bike about 20 miles in the morning now the the weather is nice and in the yucky days it's off to the gym.
