    Buyers Remorse?!?!

Excuse the phrase that my dad used but my first week out I was crying what have I done and he said to me "you shit in your cornflakes, I m afraid there is nothing you can do now but eat shit." and he is unfortunately right. I am a little over a month out and it isn't quite as tough but I still battle a lot of nausea. Judging from where I was day one and how far I ve come, I figure around month six I ll be really happy I did it. After years of being unhealthy, six months doesn't seem like all that long to spend in purgatory.
  3. Most films like that are propaganda. Don't believe everything you see on television. That is one opinion. Follow your doctors advice, they have your best interest at heart. Any concerns, ask them.

    Taking A Compliment..

I went ahead and just posted it on Facebook and everyone in my life knows. I didn't want people whispering behind my back, I d rather them ask me to my face. Every time I see someone that I haven't seen in a while all they want to talk about for 30 mins is the surgery, my diet, the pain involved. For the most part they are just curious and once they realize everything that goes into it, the compliments turn from wow you lost weight to wow I could never do that. Then they know and the topic is dropped. As for strangers, just say thanks. The worst thing you can say is no I m not because you are calling them a liar. You are now fabulous, adjust, lol. Good luck.

    Broke 250!

Thanks guys! It's hard to get encouragement because to not overweight people being under 250 seems like no big deal. I knew you guys would understand.
  6. I am almost a month out from surgery and I am doing ok. I still battle nausea everyday. I am curious to know if you have found anything that helps?

    Nausea

Zofran only seems to keep me from puking not relieve the sick feeling so it's almost worse.
  8. I knew if I told a few people I would have to let the cat out of the bag. I look at it this way I can either be open and honest about it or I can have people whisper about it behind my back. I live in such a small town that it was worth it to me to just post it on Facebook and be done with it. So far the response has been positive, more curiosity about the surgery than anything else. If someone starts to be judgemental then I just say these are the choices I made for my health, they might not be the choices you would've made, but if respect me, you can respect my choice. By being open I hope I change a few minds about the stigma of weight loss surgery.
  9. Went to the mall to shop for my mother's bday gift today. I felt like I'd been locked in jail for weeks. I didn't last very long, about an hour, but I think it's a step back to normal.
  10. I m almost three weeks post op and I have been laying around a lot. I ve been sore and tired. But I feel like tomorrow I am finally ready to start back into normal life. However I can't help feeling lonely in this whole process. Like i just don't function like the rest of the world does now. Anyone else feeling that? Friends and family have been great, but they don't have to do what I do.

    Tomatoes?

When can I eat tomatoes? I don't see it on the do or don't list anywhere. Any thoughts?
  12. Post surgery recovery was a lot more difficult than I anticipated, but now the only problem I have is that I am not sleeping through the night. I sleep for a few hours and then need to sit up for a couple hours. I ve lost 27lbs so far, but it's hard to be excited when your lacking sleep.
  13. I think it's more mental than physical. Being overweight I found a way to love my body, but made a choice to get healthy. You probably did too. But now that body is all changed. Find a way to love this body even if it doesn't lose another pound because what you have done is awesome. I'm 17 days out and hoping I do as well as you.

    Not Sleeping

Thanks. I am honestly scared to take more drugs. I don't know if my stomach could handle it. I'm sleeping like 3 hours at a time. Seems to be getting better.

    Weakness

17 days post op and I am down 27 lbs. the first week is horrible and I swear they keep u in the hospital for three days to make sure u don't jump off a bridge. But it gets better. I drank skim milk when I felt nauseous. I d just sip on a couple ounces of it and it gave my stomach some protein to work on. I know milk and stomach problems aren't the usual way of thinking but ur whole relationship with food has changed. Hope ur feeling better.

    Not Doing So Hot

I am 17 days out and water doesn't agree with me either so I put crystal light in it and for whatever reason it sits a lot better. This was a suggestion from my NUT so I hope it u can try it and it works. Also makes me feel normal, sipping on something lemonade flavored.
