Thanks for the suggestions! I have been taking all suggestions into consideration! Haven't added fruit to my shake yet as I am too scared to have dumping.. Had that once and oh my I totally don't want to back there! I have my first outting this week with friends.. I am on soft foods..kinda nervous as to how to handle this, any suggestions?

I had my surgery on 10/29/12... I must say that I do have a high tolerance for pain.. However nothing prepared me for the pain and total lethargy that I felt after this surgery. I needed pain meds for the first week. i have not yet resumed 100% of my normal activities.. I am trying though and doing better everyday.. I notice that I get tired easier and need to rest. I can't wait until I start to feel normal again and more like myself!

Something did not agree with me yesterday. I started with the symptoms of dumping around 8pm last night.. Actually threw up three times between about midnight and 3am. Still don't feel right today.. Have had 1 bottle of water 2 bites off jello and have now thrown up again. Help.. Advice? What do I do?

OMG.. I am soooo tired! Surgery was on 10/29. I know it has to do with not really eating!

Oh my Gosh!!! Jenn.. You so know what I am going through! I am home trying to recuperate from my surgery and am still hearing about the comments going on at work because I do have two very close friends there who are extremely supportive. I am contemplating filing an HR report against her at this point bc she should not be discussing my medical w/o my permission! I am so sorry you had to deal with this too! Why are people so shallow? We decide to do better for ourselves and they try to throw us under the bus!!! UGH!!!! Hugs to you

Just stumbled on this thread for those of us in our forties! Just had RNY on 10/29. I am 41. Hangin in there. Felt better yesterday than I did today! The pain in my left side just sucks! Still getting used to my pouch.. Not hungry.. But I am thirsty.. It hurts to drink so I am struggling w getting enough fluids.

I meant I HAD surgery on oct 29.

Oh my.. Getting that drain pulled was just the weirdest feeling.. Tolerable but weird!!!

OMG.. This girl will not leave me alone.. She called me while I was in the hospital.. I answered bc I was so out of it. I don't want to have any sort of discussion with her about this shit anymore. I feel like you burned me.. I found out..now 'f' off and leave me alone!

I wanted to wear my own pjs too.. But it was better to just wear the hospital clothes bc there was some blood from the drain tube and incisions.. So best to ruin their stuff - not yours

Just curious to know when others started to weigh themselves postop. I have first appointment w doctor on 11/6. Was thinking I could wait until then.. But not sure if I can wait that long

Ok so being such a patient person... NOT....I got on the scale this morning! Total weight loss to date is 18 lbs. not too shabby!

I only brought what I wore to the hospital, snook which I did not read bc I was too out of it and my cell phone.. They provide you most of what you need and honestly I was in and out of it the whole time so I didn't need much more than the tv being on

Had surgery on 10/29.. Amidst the hurricane! Been walking and sipping but man I am in some pain.. And out of it.. Groggy..looking forward to feeling better!

It hasn't been too long for me yet.. I have say that the walking helps. I walk every hour then try to stay standing then rest.. Still need the pain meds though .. Can't wait til I don't! The sipping bothers me.. One day at a time
