  1. Hope everyone that have been banded this month are doing well, and to all of those that are getting ready I hope all goes well for you as well. I'm 1 week post op and doing well, lost 10 lbs as of this am, still have a little pain in the tummy area but other than that I am doing great, walking everyday. Today I start my mushies, although I am still not hungry, that time is in the evening for me. Well anyway take care all you Aug. bandsters. Shelley
  2. Hey, I got back late last night, my surgery also went very well. I can't believe I don't have pain, but lots of gas, but no gas pains. I love my band too!!:cheeky Dr. Rodriguez in Monterrey was great, I would go there again in a heart beat. He did remind me that I have to work w/the band. HE said "Don't think you have to be so tight, it causes too many problems, eat healthy, and get a fill when needed, and unfilled if it is too tight, it is not worth losing the band by being too tight." Sounds good to me. Hey Margo, glad you are doing well also. Shelley
  3. Barbara, My surgeon is Dr. Arturo Rodriguez, in Monterrey. Shelley

  9. Nickie456, I have a ? for you. What is Monterrey like? We leave early Tue. morning, I am assuming that it is very hot there. Did you get a wheel chair at the airport, and if so what was that like? I am embarrassed about getting an extension on the plane, not sure I will need one, but may. Anything you can tell me about it would be great. Thanks, and glad you are doing so well. Shelley

I don't make it to the boards everyday so I miss some, but I want every one to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all. By the way has anyone heard from the ones that have already had their surgeries? Hope they are all doing well. Here is to gettin er done, Shelley

Sisterp, don't worry you are not alone, this too will be my first surgery, and I am scared to death. Mine is 7 days away, so excited, and scared all the same. 15. unjury is a protien powder that everyone says is wonderful, they even have unflavored, which people put in drinks, Soups and yogurt. At least that is what I have read, sounds good to me. Shelley;-)

  19. I'm scheduled for Aug. 17th also. I am going to Monterrey, Mexico to Dr. Rodriguez. I've been having a hard time sleeping also, I'm kinda scared also. Shelley
  20. I just wanted to tell you that there are 2 Dr. Rodreiguez's in Mexico. The one I am looking at is in Monterrey and he has done over 4000 surgeries. I have listed his web sites for you to take a look at. Best wishes with who you decide. Shelley www.Lapbandinformation.com www.Thebariatric.com
  21. I was just wondering if anyone has had surgery by this Dr. and would be willing to give me information on him and his Clinic. His site says he is Cert. by INAMED, but I am making sure I am doing all my homework before I decide what Dr. to use. I know there are a lot of good ones in Mexico, so I am trying to decide, and any help would be appre:confused: ciated. Thanks, Shelley
  22. Norma, Please keep us informed about what the Dr. told you and your decision of whether or not you keep the band. I too say give it a little longer. I am in the process of getting banded, need to get the $ first, hopefully in June I can join all of you in bandster land. Take care, Shelley;)
  23. Thanks Tricia, That is who I was talking about, wasn't paying attention when I spelled his name, and I am not feeling very well tonight. Did he tell you or do you know why he prefers the Swedish band over the Inamed band. Thank you,
  24. I was just wondering if any of that you that used Dr. Rod for your surgery could tell me if he uses the Swedish band or the Inamed band. From what I read on his web page it is the Swedish, but just thought I would ask some of you that know the facts. Thanks, Shelley:cheeky
  25. Wannabtiny, I was just wondering how you are doing? Hope you are doing well and enjoying your new band. I am really considering Dr. Rod. From what I read on these boards, I think he would be a good choice. I live in Oregon and already have a Dr. to do my fills if I decide to go to Mexico. I am just really scarred, and of coarse the money issue. I have got to try and get a loan somewhere. I finally told my DH that my Dr. and I had talked about me getting banded. My Dr. thinks it would be a great thing for me to do. My DH well he didn't say no and didn't say yes. His question was, "what do you do with all the hanging skin?" LOL I thought of all the things to say he is worried about my skin. Anyway let us all know how you are doing, Shelley
