  1. I know it seems to take forever and they don't really tell you everything up front. So far I don't have to do a 6 mos diet. Phew. I do know I will have a week or two of some kind of diet before the surgery.
  2. Congrts! I don't have my date yet but I am hoping March or maybe Feb.
  3. That's nice! I wish mine would be that fast. Already has been since september 20th.
  4. I probably won't have surgery for a couple more months. I'm hoping by March.
  5. Lol we all have some hoops don't we!
  6. Hi Lissa I have a 2 hour class tomorrow with a nutritionist and physical therapy. Then I have to call the caseworker to move on to the nextstep, which would be a one hour one on one appointment with the nutritionist and social worker. Last Friday I had a sleep assessment and am waiting for a call back to have a sleep study.. Phew after the appointments with the nutritionist and social worker I have to have another appoint with them. I will have to meet with the caseworker to see if all my goals are met then I can be scheduled for the surgeon and make a date. So I am about half way thru I figure. I am hoping to have surgery by March or April. I hope! Lol I already did a orientation class a 8 week weight management class and one support group so far. This sure takes forever. I am one of those that when I make up my mind I'm ready right then so all this waiting and so forth is hard for me. My husband says it will teach me patience! Ya right if I don't have it by now I'll never get it! Lol sounds like you have quite a journey as well.
  7. Thanks so much! Im really happy to be on this journey. Waited along time to get started! Been heavy most of my life. Turned 50 this year and decided if I was going to do this I needed to get with it. So glad that I did!
  8. I've been working my way thru the process since September. So it does take time. Darn anyway!!
  9. I've already learned a lot from just reading everyone's threads! I can't wait to actually see the surgeon and get a date. Self pay is certainly the way to go if you can, for me not a option. I am thru kaiser permanent. So far not to terrible. Just lots of classes to go to before anything can happen. I'm off to another class tomorrow. Then after that nutrition and social worker visits. Then not sure. So just plodding along.
  10. Hi I'm Dawn and I too am in the middle of my process and jumping thru insurance hoops! I do know that I am approved for surgery and im just working on getting thru the process.
  11. I have to confess I have not done a thing today! It's dark out and raining. I know that's an excuse! I need to learn to just make the time. I am one of those that does not like to exercise. I will work on that.
  12. Wow, that sounds terrible and really scary! I hope you heal up quickly!

  15. Hi I am in the middle of my journey too! I have finished my weight management class and have a group class this coming week then after that I can schedule appointment with nutritionist and social worker. I'm always reading reading reading!
