  1. Looked back at old pictures. Don't even recognize myself.
  2. I'm almost 11 months out and was very slow for the first month or two. I had a huge drop of weight over a two week span around 9 months. Everyone is different. Just stick to it and I KNOW it is soooo hard, but stay patient. Love yourself and don't allow yourself to get discouraged. This is kinda cheesy and I've never told anyone this until now, but the song "I won't give up" by Jason mraz- I used to sing it to myself, sometimes looking in the mirror. Read the words and think about it ????
  3. I'm dealing with it right now. Going to try to get in to doc tomorrow. But yeah gas and cramping. To the point I'm doubled over in pain. Grrrr
  4. I'm 10 months out and I've noticed an increase in what I believe is gas pain for the last month. I have severe cramping and abdominal pain. Get boated to the point that pushing on my stomach hurts. This happens after I eat and is miserable. I can't seem to find a food that seems to be the cause. Anyone else have this issue?? It is such a miserable pain- just like I felt post op. gas relief chews don't cut it
  5. Me a couple weeks ago. And me about a year ago. Down 110 pounds surgery date 10/4/12
  6. Did you go to your doc? I'm having the same concern right now and really don't have the time to get in to the doc till Monday or Tuesday
  7. Has anyone had a bowel obstruction who can tell me what it's like? I'm not sure what's going on and I have so much on my plate right now that I'm trying to decide what to do
  8. Pic from surgery day 10/4/12. Total wls 90
  9. I too just hit onederland! I'm curious as to what your next big goal is. My first big goal was 50 lb and then 71, putting me at 199. I'm soo excited and happy to be where I am but I'm not sure what goal to set. I'm 4 months out and keep hearing things slow down. I want to be realistic. Congratulations on hitting a major point in this journey!
  10. Rny 10/4/12 Dos- 270 Lw- 240 Tw- 236 Total wls 34 pounds!
  11. Tina- I feel the same way! I've been back to work for 2 1/2 weeks and it takes it all out of me. I try to get exercise in on my days off. I keep reminding myself it will get better!
  12. I'm a month and a half out. I have a very short fuse too!!! I think I'll try my pcp and see what she recommends
  13. I had originally gone to my surgeon wanting the band. When he told me I should go for the rny, I freaked for awhile. For that reason and many others, I put off going through the insurance process for an entire year. In the time I waited until my surgery, I gained an additional 20 pounds. I had my rny 10/4/12, and have lost 30 lbs. I have to admit that I kick myself a little because I keep thinking I'd be 20 pounds closer to my goal if I hadn't waited, and really, I would be at my goal weight by now. I'm 27, and I just didn't want to die young due to something I could prevent. It's terrifying to take that step, but it's worth it. I'm already feeling more confident and it's only going to get better! You can do it!
  14. You can do it! You have come a long way and worked hard. You're worth it!
  15. Thank you! It is definitely crazy to see the scale continue to go down! I'm so excited for this time next year, as I will be somewhere around half the size I was when I began.... But it's all about the journey and I try to celebrate every pound!
  16. Thanks ladies for your support. I tried some hot tea after I made this post and it did help a little. I'm trying very hard to get all of my fluids and protein in but I've quit beating myself up over it. And I do need to make this about me. I ended up taking Thursday off from work to refocus and gather some strength. I'm so glad I did. My job is a passion of mine, but it's not the only passion I have. Thank you thank you thank you!
  17. Surgery 10/4/12 DOS- 270 LW- 244 Today- 240 Total- 30 lbs!!
  18. Just to head off at the pass, the food I'm eating has been approved by my nut, and I haven't had issues with that food so far... Also I'm beating myself up for not exercising- I'm working full time again at a stressful job, so I feel like all I can do when I'm home is crash. Soo not good for the mood!
  19. Hey all- I just need to know someone else has been here. I'm 5 weeks post op tomorrow, am down 29 pounds and feeling miserable today. I had a rough weekend too with nausea. Today I've eaten an egg with cheese and broccoli cheese soup. I feel like I could vomit at any time. I've gotten behind in my fluids/protein this week and had big plans to do well today. I've gotten in about 30 g of protein and 3 cups of water. I'm trying so hard to sip, but I get nauseated each time.m just frustrated. Other than anti nausea meds, how have you handled feelings like this?
  20. Was anyone told about soups by their nut? I was thinking of making a chicken noodle soup without the noodles (maybe use spaghetti squash), but will the broth just flush the chicken and veggies through? I was told to not drink during meals or until 30 minutes passed after finishing meals.
  21. Dos 270 10/4/12 Lw 247 Tw 244 Total wls 26
  22. Dr mom, I've actually noticed a change the last couple of days for me. I'm getting 64 oz in a day, but my pee has been darker. I'm assuming some of this is the vitamins. I'm going to up my water by 8 oz the next few days to see what happens I'm 4 wks out...
  23. It is probably just water or maybe related to your hormonal cycle. I'm a little more than 3 weeks out, and my loss has slowed down dramatically. We have to consider the shock our bodies are going through. For me, I have been struggling to get my protein in, and it's getting chilly in Indiana, so I haven't been doing as much walking. Examine what you can do better, but don't beat yourself up, and remember we will have plateaus. I hope this helps!
  24. Preop- 270 10/4/12 Last week- 250 This week- 247 A big slow down this week- having trouble keeping steady amount of Protein in and didn't exercise as much as I should have
