thanks for the comments, my nutritionist said I had to get in 60 to 60 grams Protein a day, so just to divide that up the way you can. I have a feeling I will do alot of chicken broth, but will add lots of spices to it. I have alot of ideals and will share when I start this when I think its good. I already bought some almond and mint flavoring for the chocolate shakes. Oh and not sure if I mentioned it but if so here I go again, I signed up today at a beauty college so I can learn to do nails and everything that goes with that. yes you are right @Snow25, they are processed, I have ate them for years, but I cant stand them now. We have a little family owned market here where I live and they have their own beef and chicken, and fresh veggies. I have bought 3 containers of the unjury already. the chocolate, unflavored, and chicken broth. stocking up on sugar free jello. I lost my job last week, and being home all day now preparing for my surgery is a good focus for me. just gotta remember, I am eating to live, not living to eat. food is evil.

I have to start my pre liquid diet on the 21st surgery the 31st. I was told liquid through the day and some sort of entree at night like the smart ones or lean cuisine. I think I would rather have lean beef or chicken with a good salad instead of those dinners. I already hate them from all the pastas and creamy sauces on them turns my stomach

I am so not seasoned either, 56, but my brain thinks I am still in my 30s, I am not looking to get skinny or hot like alot of the younger folks, or have a baby, I just want to also get healthy, stop taking meds for diabetes, cholestrol and high blood pressure, I dont have high blood pressure but they put me on the meds because of the diabetes. I also just want to be able to get around better for my grand daughter, she is 5 and needs me to take her places that are fun and do things. my pre op visit is dec 20th, with the surgeon, then my surgery is december 31, so excited but so nervous,

I had the endo a month ago for this surgery, and they will do it again during the surgery to check for leaks and bleeds

yes one way or another it has to be done before you leave. they have to check for bleeds and or leaks.

I have UHC also, but how I know the total is from the surgeons office, they called me yesterday to tell me that I had to pay it when I come to my preop visit on the 20th, they said my out of pocket for the surgery is the 520, thats good I thought till I saw everyone elses lol. but i am so good with that

Just got my balance for what my out of pocket will be for RNY. $595.00. That is not bad at all. $520.00 for the surgery and $75.00 for a year of nutritionist counseling with the dietician. Anthesiologist will of course bill separately. So maybe all together i may be out of pocket $1000.00 not to bad

ok so I called them, my deductible is paid, so now we are at 80/20, but my question is how would they bill me. I was afraid since the surgery was on 12/31/12 i would get screwed out of my deductible. the surgeons intake person that handles all the insurance stuff said that she bills the insurance same day as the surgery. I should only be in the hospital over night an out on January 1st, the MY UNC told me that if they bill on december 31st that my insurance will cover for 2012. but if I have to stay in the hospital january 1st 2013 at night to january 2nd then my insurance will split pay for surgery on 2012 pay for exyended stay in hospital 2013, so I think I will be ok.

you should use lactaid milk with you powders, I have been lactose intolerant for years, and love this milk, i get the fat free lactaid milk, its really good, and its not thin like water,there are powders you can find that are lactose free just keep searching

yall had me very scared about the barium drink, I hate that crap and like yall I would have puked to. but my surgeon is so up to date he doesnt do this procedure the way you all endure it, what he does after the surgery is done and the patient is asleep,he does the EDG endoscope test. and checks for leaks and things that was, with sugery and everything he does takes an hour and 45 mins, 55 mins for surgery then the other for the endo. thank goodness, and most of his patients go home the next day. if there is a gall bladder to be removed he does it at same time too. thank goodness, I chose a good doctor phewww was so nervous,

I guess you really wouldnt know the answer I need. my surgery date is Dec 31st 2012, the surgeon bills the insurance the same day as the surgery, I have met all my deductibles this year but now I am afraid it will mess me up. surgeons office doesnt think it will, but yet I think i am going to be screwed and have to start my deductible all over again

ok i am confused, why did you have to have a barium shake and xray? I hadnt heard that this was part of the bypass surgery? I must have missed this some where in the forum for afterwards.
