I am having surgery Tuesday and was packing. I looked at my closet today and saw all of the clothes that are already falling off me bc of my weightloss thus far. I have lost 45 pounds over the last year or so. My coworkers were telling me Friday that I need new clothes (great feeling) Anyway, I gathered up all of my expensive now oversized work clothes to give to my sister. She is bigger but on her way down hopefully as well I couldn't believe how many clothes I could get rid of!
Of course I am going to milk the ones that are just a little big so I get my money out of them lol.
Any others have a clothes funeral? It s really liberating!!!

God luck. Hope all goes well for you. Try to calm down a little. Easier said than done I know, but you've put a lot of thought, and energy into this.
Thanks! I think I will relax tomorrow night, I will have my surgery time and everything packed....then sleep

Looking fantastic!

I get my time to report to the hospital Monday too. I am already having weird dreams about work and surgery. Tomorrow will be my last day at work for two weeks and we are already behind so it is kind of stressful. I told my coworker bough that after Monday I CANNOT be thinking about work. I need to be thinking of my recovery. How long is everyone else taking off?

I am being revised to sleeve Tuesday! I am scared that it will fail just like the band, but I see a lot of ex banders felt that way and are doing fine. This IS the right decision for me and I have to trust that it will work and that i will be able to use it as a tool. Thanks for the info on no feeling your sleeve in the beginning. I probably would have freaked out...

Woohoo! You look amazing! How tall are you?
-
Good luck. Hopefully you'll be approved in no time

Sorry, that is frustrating! Try to remain calm. ( Easier said than done, i know this very well) You can get the letter and then resubmit. I would have the insurance detail to you what they need so you can get the right letter. Good luck and hang in there.

Fantastic isn't it?! Congrats!

Clear Liquids up till 10am... No food past midnight the night before. The food isn't an issue for me, but the liquids.... on a 95 degree day in Boston... will be tough!
(But OH SO WORTH IT!)
I was thinking they would say no liquids past 10pm that would be crazy!

Wicked nervous here! I have -no- doubts in my mind about the surgery and it being the right thing for me. But the build up to the "big day" is KILLING ME!
I don't have to check in the hospital till 1pm on Tuesday. Surgery isn't till 3. I'm so eager to just get it done with already!!! <3
Oh my! What is the last time you can take in liquids or food depending in your instructions?

So excited! I feel the same like I will get a call telling me I need to do something else lol not sue what more I could do though! Not too long now...

I am having my lap band out next Friday and a revision to the gastric sleeve. I'm a Kaiser patient and it has been wonderful so far. Previously I was with one of those large heavily advertised lap band companies who basically deserted me once my surgery was over. Keep trying, many people have been denied only to win on appealing (even on the 4th) time. Good luck!
Same here....no post op care. Rude! I am revising on 6/25 due to complications though
-
I don't regret getting my band bc I would certainly have climbed to over 400 lbs without it, but I am revising to a sleeve on 6/25 due to complications with my band. I too did not have the sleeve options when I was banded 6 years ago. On lapbandtalk.com you will find many wonderful success stories and many horrible complications as with any surgery. Do your research and find what fits you best. I personally am ok with having 85% of my stomach cut out after having the horrible complications I had. But I am still not ok with the bypass. Good luck!

Haha..My pity party was yesterday when I was making my husband and kids a nice home made meal and I sat at the table with my Jello lol. My husband looked at my bowl and I just told him to shut up and not talk to me. I had a good cry too. I never realized the hold that food had on me. Kinda disgusting when I think about it
It gets better. It is actually liberating when you get to day 7 or so. I was like this is amazing that I am doing this! I cheated day two with 2crackers bc I thought I would throw up but after that I haven't cheated. I am on day 9. Good luck

Up at 430 am right now to get ready to drive to Fremont in rush hour traffic for psych eval!

I went to my first post op appointment today. I am down 16 lbs!!!!!!! I have been moved to a stage two diet. Basically it consists of soft foods. I was told to drink one Protein shake a day and eat three small meals with 64 oz of liquids in between. I was so excited. I went home and had 2oz of refried Beans with low fat cheddar cheese sprinkled on top. I topped it with a spoonful of fat free sour cream. While preparing I thought this looks like such a small amount. I put into a finger food sized bowl. It was DELICIOUS!!!!!! I had no trouble getting it down. And....... it filled me right up! It took me about 20 minutes to finish it. I paced myself.
For dinner, I mashed up a banana and mixed it with creamy low fat Peanut Butter. Another winner!!!!!! I was so happy with myself that I even cooked dinner and sat with my family as they ate. I wasn't hungry one single bit!
Every day just gets better and better!!! I am so glad that I decided on this revision. I went through such a hard time after my lapband slipped that I almost decided against another operation. So thankful for the support of my husband and family.
So glad you are doing well! I can't wait for next Tuesday

I will! I added you as a friend. What was your weight the day of your surgery? I think we are even closer in weight than we thought lol and I am only 1 inch taller if that so we are almost identical starting points. Get some rest and of course walk and hydrate.
