  1. I just remember the party isnt about food anymore and enjoy watching others eat while I sip my water. A cheese tray is a great idea though. Today I have a birthday party and I am making a 3 layer cake with rice crispy treats layer and two huge and decadent pastas. If I can do this, you can survive!
  2. I am almost 5 months and my nut said if you put protein first every time you eat, calories will not be an issue. I still track them though..
  3. I find that I do well with mexican food. I eat the insides out of tacos and put extra cheese on them. Beans and cheese are almost always on the menu and go down beautifully. Plus you can share a sampler platter with friends so you dont have a huge plate of food plaguing you. Chicken wings are good to get at a bar, just chew very well.
  4. I love this post!!!!! My life has changed a lot too. I was 225 and could not walk. I.was wheel chair bound. I could not wipe my own butt very well. Things were so bleak, but after 4 months and 3 weeks I am 160, & dont need the scooter ,exercise some , and wear a size 7 juniors and medium shirts. I want to be 115, but if the weight liss stopped today I would live a hapoy comfortable life
  5. Once you eat more solid food you will feel it and feel it too fast for your liking!
  6. Dumping is what happens when sugar hits the small intestine. So yes too much can make you dump but I have haf juice since day one and it has never hurt me.
  7. Let your body tell you . I didnt begin work outs until.4 months out due to back pain. Now I am doing it, but you can start whenever you feel up to it
  8. No matter how much I brush I feel like they are not clean. We forget how much crunchy foods clean the teeth!
  9. Ive had to take that crap for a few years. I hate it and often totally refuse to do it. Why cant they make an unflavored one?
  10. You will be in pain. I hurt pretty bad for about 4 weeks
  11. My surgeon says you only lose about 60 percent of your excess weight. I am 5 foot and weighed 218 at surgery. Meaning I had 100 to lose to be 118. My doc said 5o to 60 percent loss is national average. For me that means about 50 to 60 lbs. I am almost 5 months out and have lost almost 60. I still weigh 160. I want to lose down to 115, & I still believe I can do it. We just have to consider that we want to work harder to be above average.
  12. It can be challenging. Im not sure why nachos go down so easy.but protein seems to.come with issues. This is not a race and you.really are doing well. 10 pounds a month is good. You can do this. Asking for help proves that you are strong
  13. Tomato sauce kills me. Could be the sauce even if its white it hurts me.
  14. It is a combination if things. Your pouch is angry. Try room temp fluids as the cold hurt me at first. I would get a bad ache if I was hungry. The emptiness hurt.
  15. Exercise may help a bit, but if your arms are very large you will most likely have the wings for life or need brachioplasty
  16. Many people use a variety of different proteins. Almost all of which are non bariatric. Ive never even tasted a bariatric one. I use muscle milk or natures bounty or body fortress from walmart
  17. Theres no stomach acid so no bile. Ham was my worst. I would measure your food. Overeating will lead to stretching the pouch, and if puking is your answer that can be dangerous as you dont want to fall accidently into an eating disorder
  18. The surgery does not relieve pain right away. I have been struggling with severe back spasms and neck pain since surgery. I have to go to the chiropracter 2 or more times a week. Cant wait for an.improvement
  19. You have to take that or you could get ulcers.
  20. Its a good substitute if it filled the craving, however if you are still obsessed with that cookie, a teeny taste may have been the answer. They never taste as goid as they look, and I know I dislike nearly all treats now. Chocolate, yuck, cake, yuck doesnt even look good and tastes worse!
  21. Wow. What a change!!!!
