  1. I am trying to start one. Not sure what exactly I can or cannot have or if I have to count calories along with this too. I don't have to doeb one yet just one week prior to surgery and don't have a date yet. But last I talked to surgeon in July he wanted me to lose 10 pounds before surgery

You know everyone keeps asking me how much my doctor wants me to lose before surgery and he never gave me a amount but I lost quite a bit on my fast.

  2. On day 9 of my liquid diet and I'm starving. Want to give in and eat so bad!!!

Stay strong how long do u have to be on? Today is my last day I jyat did 4 weeks if I can do it u can to jus stay strong I will b praying 4 ya. I didnt start having trouble till three and a half weeks in then I was ready to eat everything around me, we jus gotta keep our munds occupied

  3. Im really ticked when I had my period last month around this time when it was due to end I started my liquid diet which was Opti Fast. Well I was on for for an additional two weeks because of the fast (says the surgeon's office) so I've only been off for about two weeks and here it comes again, and im having surgery on Monday this is the last thing I wanted to be dealing with while in the hospital. I guess it wouldnt be so bad if it wasnt so heavy but lately it's been ridiculous. Mother Nature sure knows how to show up at the most inconvenient time.

  4. Hello everybody! Morning after surgery. Was going to post yesterday but got tired and forgot.

Everything was text book says my surgeon. I was in pretty good pain when I first woke up in recovery. They drugged me up. I was using morphine for the first few hours. Then I went from noon until 930 without pain meds. Doped up just in case before bed. Woke up at 4 figure I needed to walk more. Some pain this morning about to go back to sleep. Gas pain is really not that bad' date=' but I have a decent pain tolerance. Other than that I am ready for a drink after my test this morning. The sponge on a stick is a life saver to moisten your mouth when it's dry! Sounds bad I know but that little dude has been my buddy.hope everyone else is doing good.[/quote']

Happy to hear ur doing ok.

  5. My mom was the youngest of nine kids so big meals was prob made, I remember her once saying (when I was young) "she didnt kno how to make small meals cuz the household she came from was large" my mom had two kids but cooked more than necessary, no doubt she herself growing up in the 60's & 70's prob heard THE SPEECH a million times.

  6. Does any one else here feels like the way their parent's treated food may have affected your eating habits now? OK I'm not saying it's your parents fault that we are overweight, but okay I grew up in a household that whatever was put on your plate you ate it, and we got the " do you know how many people out there starving" speech. I think the problem is that (atleast for my generation) is that to much food would be on the plate and regardless if your full or not your made to eat all of it. I think that's why I would eat even when I was full because I grew up and did the same thing put too much food on my plate and in the back of my mind it's "like you know how many starving people are out there". I know when my kids were little I watched their portion sizes but I find myself now give them more than what they probably need but I guess I deliberately do that because my kids are really little but I have to think to myself I was once their size when I was their age so no I gotta break the cycle. The crazy thing is I can't tell you how many times I have given the "starving people" speech. Lol

  7. I've been on my liquid diet for 22 days now and I realized that I was somewhat of a human garbage disposal I found myself yelling at my kids for tryna feed me their food then I realized they are doing what they have always done. Nothing with them has changed but now that I'm changing I have seen some of my bad habits and they all have to END NOW.

  8. Anume I am on BP pills with the Fluid pill on it. I wonder if this is one on your list. I am taking BP and thyroid medicine I quit taking the cholesterol meds

Oh yeah blood pressure and Water pill, usually if it is a blood thinner or things on that line u have to stop so u wont bleed easily when your on blood thinners it makes it hard to stop bleeding medicines like coumadin even aspirin is a blood thinners. I just looked at the list and birth control is on it.

  9. So I had my pre-op today. Turns out I have some gall tones so my surgeon is going to take out my gall bladder also. Curious to know if anyone else has to have that done. Also I am now on a 600 calorie diet till surgery day on the 15th! Shouldn't be bad' date=' I still get chicken which I love![/quote']

After having my son by C Section in 2000 I had to have mine removed and it was a breeze mine was done just like the RNY was done except less cuts Every one looks at me like I'm crazy Cuz I'm not nervous but this makes my 4th surgery and I'm just not nervous about things like this I'm more like "BRING IT ON" sounds crazy rite idk maybe I will get nervous when the weekend comes.:)

  10. Hi just wanted to see if any other doctors have required you to go off birth control pills. I have to take it for my bad endometreosis . Anyone else told to stop taking the pill?

Im not on the pill but my dr took me off everything but my blood pressure & acid reflux med, mite b sumthin n it they dont want mixed with surgery meds my surgeon gave me a whole 4 page list of medicines that we could not take within 10 days of surgery and the only thing the paper said was take blood pressure meds with a sip of Water the morning of surgery.

  11. My energy is pretty good. I work night shift so when u go from day off to night on I never can get all my Protein in' date=' but I make up for it the next day. I was walking a mile every day, sometimes 2. Now that I'm back to work, today was the first day I've walked in a week. I need to up the exercise for sure. Just haven't been making time for it. School just started for the kids, I just went back to work, my son has football 2-3 nights a week. All the typical excuses. I'll be six weeks out tomorrow and have to make time to exercise. I don't want to waste my honeymoon period. I have the energy, just gotta get going on the motivation.
