  1. BB I had 2 weeks prior to surgery as well. I chose to quit earlier in case I had a hard time with it. Not really understanding the weight gain that comes with it I wish I would have waited but I've come to far to start back for a couple months to just quit again.
  2. Thank you and yes even the small pounds can do damage right now.
  3. You think more then the 64 I do now? About how much more? Do you have myfitnesspal?
  4. Sunshine I am struggling with this as well. And it is really hard trying to get this 7 pounds off. Which I gained literally in one month when I quit smoking in July. I have lost 3.2 pounds of it so far but it has taken 3 weeks to do it so far. You may just need to up your exercise a little each day to help
  5. Oh so cool sorry for the questions, but did they submit to insurance today? Or before? I have BCBS Highmark and hope I get approved that fast lol
  6. Ok so I have lost 3.2 pounds of the 5 I have to lose by the 24th. Which is good buttt. My appointment is I'm the evening and I am weighing in the morning when I wake up and after an hour I will get back in and weigh 2 pounds more. So I am not sure if I have lost anything. Being all said this is making me think I have to lose way more then the 5 pounds so it will show up as 5 pounds at weigh in. What I have been doing is I reduced my calorie intake from 1500 to 1200 and upped exercise to be burning at least 700 calories a day. What can I change or do different to lose this weight in 10 days??
  7. Oh nice!!! Are you going through insurance?
  8. Well before my pcp said to eat a banana a day to help with potassium loss due to meds so I am going to start taking one potassium supplement till I her bananas. I don't need this being something that delays me getting surgery So i am going to try and fix it. I don't go till the 24th for monthly weigh in and I will sure be armed with a lot of questions for the NP
  9. I think my potassium is low too. I am on fluid pill with my high blood pressure pills and I am not consuming enough food with potassium right now. I have potassium vitamins just don't know if I should take 1 or 2 of them daily
  10. I haven't had surgery yet but from day one the nut and surgeon said 90-100g of protein after surgery
  11. No I won't get a date till end of October or November
  12. When I went to my seminar the surgeons explained each procedure and went over complications etc..when the seminar was over you could either stand in line and make appointment then or call. I stood in line LOL when I first walked in they had paperwork for everyone to fill out and turned in before seminar started
  13. Also check to see if your surgeon has a website you can get more info from there too if they do
  14. Welcome Brittany!! Usually after the seminar they will make appointments for first consultation. At the first appointment you usually see the surgeon the nurse the dietitian and exercise physiologist. The nurse will go over your medical history. Your surgeon may have test that you have to get prior to surgery such as EKG, Endoscopy. And blood work. Each surgeon is different in what tests they want you to do
  15. My husband is same way as well as my adult son living back home. They have no compassion on what I am having to do. So the other day in the midde of cooking something I know I can't have I put the cooking utensils down went in while they were just laying in the couch watching TV like always and said I was done. I refuse to cook what I can't eat so if you want to eat cook it yourselves. Gave them the utensils and walked away.
  16. LOL never heard of it till now
  17. Most of my snacks have been like SF jello to try and curb the hunger. And of course the snacks is where I record most of my coffee. The nurse practioner told me I had to lose this 5 pounds this month to make up for gaining the 7. Because it is from quitting smoking she said she would document that but insurance can deny a person for gaining. Just like you can get denied for losing to much too. Sigh....
  18. I think I can handle doctor postponing a week or so till I lost it then to get denied by insurance for it
  19. Melon do you have myfitnesspal? It really is helping me realize what I am doing wrong. If you do add me. Same name as here
  20. Wow I thought hospital stay was 2-3 days!! Some of y'all coming home after 1. Scares me to death
  21. With my insurance I don't have a Co pay. Just a 100 deductible which has been met and a 750 out of pocket Max which has been met so I shouldn't have to pay anything
