  1. The tests I have already completed. 1. Tons of blood work (guess there will be more a week or so before surgery 2. EKG 3. Endoscopy 4. Pulmonary Function Test I have already met with nutritionist 2 times and exercise person
  2. I have wanted WLS for years now but could never afford it. I have been at same weight 285 for over 10 years now. I was told my whole childhood how fat I was. When I was senior in high school I weighed 173 and then got pregnant and 3 kids later boom!!! Well finally in March I had started a new job and one of my Co workers was in the process of her 6 month process and I was talking to her at lunch and found out her husband works for same company my husband does and that our insurance covers the surgery. I was so happy and excited I started crying because of wanting this for years now. I immediately clocked out and went home and called the weight loss center and was at the seminar the next morning
  3. If I have to do a lot I sure hope it can be done same day. I live an hour from surgeon and hospital with round trip tolls 8 bucks!!
  4. Thanks all. I found the website for the hospital and read what I need. The blood work and maybe a chest xray. 7-14 days prior to surgery date along with a educational session with the nurse
  5. Millsy I am same way. I am hungry all the time it seems. But I have to say today seems a little better. 2 days ago I download myfitnesspal and it is helping a lot. I am seeing what I am consuming daily and know most of the hunger is head hunger and eating because I am bored

  9. I have seen posts about tests prior to surgery. What tests are they? I have already done all tests besides psych evaluation. Are there other tests like a week or two after you get a surgery date?

  11. We do have a YMCA. AMC my son has Xbox kinect. I love doing the bowling on there. Haven't played honestly since last Christmas.
  12. What insurance do you have? I have BCBS Highmark from husband's work are Alpha Natural Resources

  14. So they more or less scheduled your pre op day after he got approval. See I am just curious how long I will have to wait after seeing him on the 23rd of October

  16. Its the same kisersassy. I feel like I am on my own. But really if I think about it I am. My husband is ok with me having surgery but he refuses to change any eating habits not even changing coffee. He will not walk with me or anything.

  18. We can do it. It's just the hardest thing I have done. Quitting smoking after 26 years wasn't this hard LOL
  19. The waiting is terrible!!!! I have an appointment on the 24th with Vanessa and then last appointment with Dr shin on the 23rd of October. How long did you have to wait for a surgery date after your last appointment weigh in.?

  22. OMG Jenn!!!! I never thought of that. I have 5 or more pounds to lose before next visit and never even thought about asking for help like that...thank you thank you
  23. Most times it is a requirement that insurance companies have. And what I have read surgeons like to see you are commited to the changes that have to be made after surgery. I have read in research if the doc tells you to lose you have to lose no way around it
