I gained 4 from first visit then stayed same on next then fain a total of 10 pounds from start weight at 4 visit I'm trying really hard to get down to start weight of 244 by the 23rd and the 6 month is optional which weigh in would be oct 9th and surgery isn't until oct 23rd so I'm going to try to get down and stay down so I atleast have 2 months of steady weight

I am working hard to lose the 7 pounds I gained from last weigh in. Have until the 24 to do so. But don't think unless I get really drastic I can do it in a week I have lost maybe 2 pounds and that is with me upping my exercise and lowering calorie count to 1200 or below and drinking more then 64 ounces of water. I am hoping some of it is that monthly thing I am on right now too

Me too. Honestly if I really would have known I would have waited till 2 weeks prior to surgery doctor requires to quit smoking

Me!! Ive gained 10 & still got approved and scheduled for 9/25. However im afraid that at my pre op appointment my doctor might postpone....

Why deja? Why would it be postponed? Because of the 10 pounds?

Because im having a hard time losing what the doc asked, which was 10lbs. Im not sure...but i think.

Some doctors will not perform surgery until u loose what they want it shrinks the liver

I'm crossing my fingers I get approved I'm glad u did I hope dr doesn't say anything about weight gain fingers crossed

My dr required a week of clear liquids only to shrink the fat around my liver. I lost 12 lbs doing that

Melon do you have myfitnesspal? It really is helping me realize what I am doing wrong. If you do add me. Same name as here

I think I can handle doctor postponing a week or so till I lost it then to get denied by insurance for it

I gained 8 lbs from my first doc visit. I went a little crazy having my " lasts ". I finally got a grip by data entering every thing I ate into myfitnesspal . I was still eating Snacks etc and my doc wanted me to lose 35-40 lbs. I think i blogged an entry about my PLAN. Spent a few days just entering data, then eliminated snacks, then low carb with a jump start with three days of Optifast . Still after reducing by 12 lbs and staying with the low carb no cheating ousted the scale at my surgeons office ( had used the one at my pcp) it said i gained 5 lbs. that pissed me right Off the diet into my old favs again ie sweets and carbs. My dr requires 2 weeks optifast I am in day three and am back to 12 lbs eliminated. my doc appt was today and he said nothing about my wt just expressed approval of my two weeks of optifast.

Most of my snacks have been like SF jello to try and curb the hunger. And of course the snacks is where I record most of my coffee. The nurse practioner told me I had to lose this 5 pounds this month to make up for gaining the 7. Because it is from quitting smoking she said she would document that but insurance can deny a person for gaining. Just like you can get denied for losing to much too. Sigh....
