I am less than 3 weeks post-op but i have lots of things i'm looking forward to:
-being able to buy/wear boots that'll fit over my calves
-flying and not having to get a seatbelt extender
-hike with my friends without wanting to die
-wear shorts for the first time in ???
-shop in a store that isn't just for big girls
-go to an amusement park and ride a roller coaster and not being afraid i won't fit and being miserable standing on my feet all day.
-buying a bra at Victoria Secret!
Important things to remember on a day when i am missing friends, family and food.< /p>

I love pickles too!!! I had a small piece but I just sucked on it I was scared to swallow like you I didn't want to upset my stomach. I'm only a little over two weeks out but I think I'll really try it after the 1st month that's when I can start raw veggies so I think it will be safe then.

Its official I'm having my surgery on the 30th. I've known that date for a while but didn't want to say cuz I wasn't sure it was going to happen. I had to find the money to pay for it cuz my insurance doesn't cover it. Well after a lot of work and worrying I found it and it is officially official. Pre op is on the 24th, EDG on the 25th, and surgery on the 30th. I'm so excited but the nerves or kicking in now.

I just had my first appt with my surgeon. We talked, he listened to my insides and the ball started rolling. My education class is scheduled for the 18th, dietician appt set for Oct 4, waiting on call from psych and cardiology for appt. And that's it. I'm so excited that it has started now. I have to lose 15-20lbs before surgery so I'm starting pre op diet tomorrow. The best part is I have a goal surgery date of Oct 30th. She even penciled me in the calendar. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I think I want to cry (happy tears of course). I'm self paid so don't have wait on insurance but need to make sure I can get the money. Planning on refinancing my house. Asking for all the prayer I can get.

seiko got a reaction from berniec in Diet Before Surgery?
Hi everyone, Im new here. Im 24 years old and have been thinking about gastric for a while now. Started the process to have it about 8 years ago but insurance wouldn't pay. Well recently I decided I want to do it again due to how my body is starting to feel (never really felt my weight til recently), and I got married last Oct and want to start a healthy family. I have been lucky and don't have any other medical problem (Thank GOD) except for my weight. I have an appointment with my doctor on Sept 5 to meet him and see what testing he wants before surgery. Im self paid because insurance still doesn't pay so I don't have to wait on any insurance clearences. So I'm hoping to have my surgery early Nov. I've seen that a lot of you have lost weight before your surgeries and I was wondering if it was a diet that you doctor placed you on before surgery and required you to lose some much weight before he did the surgery or if it was just from the 6 month program some of you had to do for insurance. Those of you that have had your surgeries are doing great and I can't wait to join you. I have enjoyed reading your post and look forward to getting more info from you on your experiences.
