  1. OMG so sorry I meant diet COKE. How embarrassing. This dam auto correct on my phone that's the second time this has happened to me on this site.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-NOTE using RNYTalk

Lol...it's all good...you brought a smile to my face this am.

  2. Before you go someplace to eat... Find out where you are going. If there are no eating voices for you at the restaurant of their choice...just say no. Tell em that it needs to be someplace that serves Soup, and lighter eating choices. Asian, Indian, Mediterranean, even Mexican has scrambled eggs and refried Beans. No to most Italian places, too heavy and tomatoes are too acidic on your stomach. Breakfast? Yogurt, oatmeal, cream of wheat, scrambled eggs wet...no carbs. No sugars. Watch your yogurt sugars, even Greek yogurt. Just remember what they teach kids in school..."just say no..."

  3. Maybe if someone has a swallow study-drink that nasty barium first with a straw, and then just drinking it...watch your pouch live and see what it does. I had one done two months ago, no straw, and it does stretch with large swallows, and swallowing air does the same thing. So, my doc had said no straws, so I use no straws. Do we want to fail all over a straw or carbonated drinks? Not I. It's not worth it. I don't want those 80lbs back.

  4. Anyone here like dim sum? I have had it twice since surgery, the first time was an utter failure with me barfing my guts out. The second time, about three weeks ago- I was more successful, but didn't eat any of the wrappers. Anyone tackled this challenge yet?

  5. I have problems with strictures. My first one they couldn't even get the camera in. The procedure wasn't painful, I think they were generous with the meds... Lol! They did it twice, three weeks apart, but were anticipating three times. It was so nice to be able to keep the food down I was thankful for the procedure. I eat more yogurt, and daily Soups. Warm liquid, like hot tea helps. I also do a bit of honey which supposedly helps prevention of gastritis and ulcers, except watch your sensitivity to sugar, may make you dump. I am surprised they will only dilate you to 10- my hospital wants 12, and the gi that did me did 15, which frustrated my surgeon. 10 seems Lina small. Now I can eat most things, and am back to the same struggles most bariatric patients have, chew, sip, bread issues, chicken issues. Strictures suck.

  6. You would be one of the very few, I am losing most of my friends pre surgery, and kicked hubby out yesterday... :(

On the farting, it's a true story. Anew bariatric friend I met in the hospital was walking with me, I wasn't passing gas, and she said something and made me laugh. I started tooting, and we passed a. Nurses station and laughed some more. I tooted All the way past it...it was a scream!!

  7. Mam, I have been reading your post for a while and also suffer with strictures. Did they tell you back to liquids after scoping? Then puréed...then soft foods...etc? I do alot of soup...egg drop, hot and sour soup...and fage greek yogurt...pretty much daily. Can do seafood, no left overs of anything...(they are too dry and get stuck) no pills...no real carbs, ie potatoes bread or rice. This time has been mostly successful, they dilated me to 15mm. Protein Shakes as needed...

  8. Have been lurking for a while...but you all are an excellent group...love all the support you give to each other. I had RNY surgery on April 26- have 2 lbs to go until I hit 80 lbs lost...it's been a wild ride so far. Have had 2 procedures for strictures, and surgery was done 1400 mi away, so the scoping and dilation was done only 350 mi away due to poor facilities nearby.
