  1. Hello all-

It has taken me awhile to post something since I have been busy with school and family. I will be one month post -op come Tuesday of next week and all is well. No nausea. No pain. No complications. All the food I am able to eat stays in my belly and I stay hydrated. I'm already down 20 pounds total this week. So including the weight watchers and surgery I've lost 74 lbs.

Does anyone know if the Facebook page was ever created?

  2. Is anybody else out there STARVING!!!' date=' i had to stop with the Atkins Protein drinks as they were milk based and i think i am lactose intolerant/ I also switched from Gummy vit to liquid to see if that helps and i bought some gas x, the new protein I am trying to GNC Lean. I am still having pain on the left side and the only thing that takes the pain away is to lay in child pray pose.

Also I had made a comment about starting a Facebook page it would be CLOSED GROUP, so that we would be the only one in the group, that way we could all keep in touch and post pic, express how we feel and how we are doing.. how many people on here would be interested? and would you want to kept just for "sept members only"?i know alot of us have jobs that search FB so i dont want to assume everyone would want to join this..

hope everyone is well, god bless and have a great weekend and anyone going to surgery good luck and prayers..[/quote']

Fb pg is a great idea. It is a little easier to use then the forum since most of us are more familiar with it, and if im not mistaken there are procedures we can follow to make it completely private except to those that are part of it.

  3. Mine's full of blood. They still aren't completely sure why it happened or where it all went. Five blood transfusions and 2 things of plasma. Still very weak. Pain in my left side is the worst. This has been harder than anything else in my life... Definitely NOT The easy way out! Hope everyone else its doing good:

    Jessica

Im sorry dear. My prayers are with you.

  4. I got bad news today. My nasal swab was positive for mrsa. MRSA is a nosocomial infection which means its hospital acquired and the organism is resistant to treatment. As a nurse for almost thirty years I guess it's inevitable to be colonized but it's devastating to be told your surgery may be delayed because they have to do you last so they can decontaminate' date=' you will be unable to be on the bariatric floor but will be placed on a floor on isolation, and have to get an infectious disease clearance.

So I made an appointment with a doc for Monday and I am starting some antibiotics that have from my last infection, I am going to bath in hibicleanse everyday and may do a nasal lavage with it . I feel desperate![/quote']

Good luck Ms. Rachel. We are praying for you.

  5. Lilli' date=' glad to see we are right there together for surgery. Are you doing a pre-op diet? I started my liquid diet today... Blah! Surgery is right around the corner...

    Jessica[/quote']

Not really Jessica. The only thing I was told to do was stick to my weight watchers just lower my points to 30. But ive been under that and I am past my goal weight for surgery. I mean Ive incorporated a shake or two on my own but thats about it.

  6. It still hasn't fully clicked in my brain. I mean I know my surgery is coming, but it just seems like a dream. The bus hasn't hit me full force. Subconciously i know I'm somewhat afraid but all my inhibitions have left my brain. I pray I don't have an emotional crash after surgery or even a panic attack the day of. Anyone else fell somewhat similar?

  7. I bet full liquids are gong to be looking pretty nice after doing my time with the clear ones!! At this point I am kind of scared to way anything I wonder if other people besides me where like that I am just scared about even thinking about eating after the surgery!!

I am too. But we gotta take the bull by the horns and conquer it. I'm excited. I'm only ten days away from surgery and looking forward to it.

  8. Hey everyone I was going to ask about everyones post op dites like how long do you have to do liquids and so on I have two weeks of clear liquids then stage one soft foods for two weeks then I'm good to go for stage two of soft food then I can have whatever I want. So let me know how your drs do it!

Im on clear liquids for three days after surgery then after that i can add milk and other "full liquids", which i follow for two weeks. After two weeks i get soft food. At four week some solid. Then i can add everything gradually at six weeks.

  9. Bucket List

    - Being able to have children with my husband

    - Fitting into a roller coaster( a bit childish but a happy tibulation to overcome).

    - Being able to bend down without losing my breathe.

I know its not much, but, all I truly want is lead a healthier and much happier life with my husband with the hopes of having a familt with him. It's true the road is arduous and tedious, but without the trials and tribulations that we have surpassed and will surpass, we move towards being happy with ourselves and those that surround us. Quick and healthy recoveries to those of you that have under gone surgery already and those having surgery this month. We've finally made it to the finish line.
