    Weightloss Surgery and Marijuana

Hi LB, I am also a (former) thc user, I had used for approx 15 years and recently quit (not just for surgery) aside from the risks that being a smoker creates for the "going under" part of the surgery, I personally found that on the two occaisions I have smoked (both times as pain management) since surgery (aug 9 2012) I found I felt sick, nauseous, got dangerous munchies and ZERO motivation to get anything done! I would honestly say that if you are considering having the surgery, which is a MAJOR life/behaviour altering process I would advocate for the ceassation of using all drugs, alcohol and tobacco. It jusy makes sense to focus on ALL aspects of ones health. Good luck in your endeavors!

    Period Question

The surgery caused my period to start (apparently not uncommon) but I could barely go pee let alone use a pad/underwear the nurse just told me not to worry about it and focus on healing ( they changed my sheets every time I got up and cleaned the bathroom after I was done)

What Is Protein Doing For My Body

Protein also helps you build/rebuild muscle tissue (as well as the healing) or also helps your body metabolize other nutrients, here is a link to some info if you want more detail http://www.wellnessresources.com/tips/articles/how_protein_helps_weight_loss/ Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk

    Very Little Restriction

  17. as we are all tempted by sweets and whatnot but know better and scour the aisles for sugar free items PLEASE be aware of the dangers of malitol/sorbitol, sugar alcohols...which incidentally are neither sugar nor alcohol, but in fact a type of carb that is (in my opinion) EVIIIIIL they pretty much just rot in your gut causing at least a "laxative effect" and more extreme can cause bloating, cramping, diarrhea and horrible ookey pain. -this all stems from a lactose/sugar free ice cream i found containing, you guessed it, malitol which after two tablespoons cause me the most excruciating four hours of my life. so beware folks, it might be confused as dumping but anything containing more that (...40g i think) of malitol/sorbitol WILL cause baaaaad things... talk to your doctors/dietions ect!!

    Black Cocktail Dress

I bought a dress when I was at my heaviest (399) it is a $200 black tulip skirt/collared number and it was on final clearance for $49! I just HAD to have it knowing it was going to fit someday and becoming a huge motivator for this process, well...I tried it on today And not only did it FIT but it looked soooo cute! As soon as I hit my first goal (300) I will debut it to the world!!!!! Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk

    Very Little Restriction

I totally felt the same way, to help train my brain I am using my daughter's toddler cups/plates/utensils to help eye out portions, I have also dumped on so many things I am a stickler about protein/sugar/fat/calories ect. The only thing I am ACTUALLY craving a soda pop (root beer to be exact) and as long as I don't drink any I know I am keeping my will power at the right level! Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk

    Yikes

I have been struggling with this, although it is more often than not simply my body rejecting the food (beef and can salmon are OUT) but I did take a large bite of purée carrots and it wasn't too good either Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk

    Chocolate Cravings

I have found sugar free chocolate covered peanuts (usually 4-6 is my limit) and Jello makes a sf chocolate mousse that is quite satisfying! Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk

    Can't Do The Puree!

It is SO hard at this stage, I am almost 4weeks post and am just now starting to introduce solids and feel better, maybe try a thick soup (pea soup, clam chowder ect) will give you new flavors and a consistency that is a little more appetizing Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
