    Bcbs Michigan

I have them an I had no problem being approved
  3. I was the same way with both surgeries I had the band and bypass was a very lonely process and even though I gave my family the information I received at my appointments and meetings with the doc they never seemed to really get it. I am 7 weeks post op and they still don't understand my diet and try to give me to much food. This website has really helped because I can ask questions and vent and people know things on here that most support people wouldn't. If ya ever need to talk or vent I'm here for ya and I'm sure everyone else on the site feels the same way.

    Too Sick

Hope you feel better soon hun, first month for me sucked esp after surgery with nausea and pain but thankfully it does get better with time. I had a pain pump and it didn't do much for me the oral pain medication did much better.
  5. So I am 7 weeks post op and really short on money due to having surgery and not having short term disability. I have been unable to buy the food I need for everyday eating. We have enough food to survive but not able to accommodate to the food I need right now. I have a 3 year old and 10 year old so food for them comes first but that leaves me with not to many choices like I buy 2 % milk for them but am suppose to have skim but don't have money for both that goes for all the other foods to. Like yogurt I need the sugar free kind but that leaves no yogurt for the kids, I am trying to stay positive but I have been missing a lot of work due to just being so exhausted so money is so tight, I am lucky to have enough gas money to drive to work which is an hour away. I been doing my best but just feeling kinda down. I saw my Dr and dietitian my doc had nothing but good thing to say but my dietitian said I think you should be working out more. I work out on my days off for a hour or so and the days I work they are 14 hour days so I literally don't have the time to work out on those days, her saying that made me kinda wanna be like poo on you I won't work out at all then. I know there isn't much I can do until I start working all my hours and getting paid like I am used to, just kinda feel like I am between a rock and a hard place. Back to the food thing I figure I will eat what I can until I can afford what I need, just make the best choices I can.

    Its All In My Face!

You can really see a difference, you look great.
  7. Waiting is so hard isn't it, especially when you know how much it's going to change your life. Enjoy your time of being able to gulp water that's what I miss the most.
  8. My doc said to not take anything the first couple months that eventually your body will regulate itself and it seems to be doing so.

    People At Work!

I talked about having surgery at work a lot even found out 3 other people I work with have had it done and kept off the weight. Looking at them I would of never guessed they had RNY. I can't wait to have all my weight off and have more energy.

Need Info About Post Op Life

Pistachios and pudding where the 2 culprits
  13. Oh yeah protein drinks are good and have 32 grams of protein in 14 oz. Also I have learned from this site use sugar free pudding and milk and fruit if wanted and blend together tastes similar to a milk shake. Sweet tasting things made me nauseous so I don't do it to often but wen I do there good.

Need Info About Post Op Life

Dumping isn't always from sugar u can dump on any food which I have twice since surgery, I am 6 weeks out. And of course you will be able to have a bite of cake again as long as u can stop at that one bite. I'm the type of person that can't so I stay away from temptations. And depending on how much weight you want to loose the sleeve you loose less with.

    Mirena Iud

I had one about a year ago and it migrated up in my uterus and would pinch every time I sat down so I had it taken out. You an have increased bleeding or spotting the first few months then once you have had it you might stop having periods. There was only a 5% chance of weight gain in a study they did an it wasn't conclusive enough to say mirena caused the weight gain.
  16. Starting off with a Protein Drink ugh

    Introduction

Welcome this is a great place for info on RNY
  19. No one knows exactly how much you'll loose it's all dependent on the person, new healthy eating habits and exercise are a huge part of it. I know a lot of people think u can eat what ya want and still loose weight which is true the first year but after a year the malabsorption no longer works so you have to really make life style changes.

Haven't lost in almost 2 weeks have been making bad choices, feels like before I had surgery went I don't lose weight I cheat ugh.
  22. Ugh so I got down to 236 a week ago and went back up to 238 and have been there all week. Been working out getting my protein an water in not eating anything I'm not suppose to I knew this time would come where I would stall but ugh it's a poopy feeling to know yer doing everything right and not losing weight. Have lost 32 pounds in 4 weeks which I know is awesome but ugh come on scale. Been trying to do more with myself makeup an doing my hair which I didn't do before to feel better, it's amazing how much the scale has over you. Been debating throwing my scale out and just forget weighing myself.
  23. Well I am finally back to working 12 hour shifts, feeling so much better today then I have in weeks. Have gotten a total of 128 oz of fluids in at work and around 1000 calories. Had to get some soup cuz 700 calories wasn't enough I started to feel weak. I do a lot of walking in the ER so I will know that from now on I need to bring more foos to work then on my days off. I do admit I have had the worst head hunger today, there is a lot of junk here at work to eat so I have to be careful not to cheat. I am 5 weeks post op.

    Soda

Yeah my doc say no no to anything with carbonation due to might stretch pouch and caffeine is a diuretic. I do miss my carbonation though but I love non diet coke so I am not even gunna try cuz I know once I have one I won't be able to stop.
