  1. My nutritionist said it was okay to be over on protein. I was at 91 one day. I haven't dumped yet, but do you think you may have dumped from it? I'm one month out. Hope it doesn't happen again. DOS 12/17/12
  2. I'm only a month out but I try not to change cooking for the family. This was my decision not theirs. They are so supportive. I did go out to a restaurant with my family the other night. I had seafood chowder and had leftovers. I had a little bite of potato skin. As more and more foods are added, it will be okay, just small portions. You'll do fine and before you know it you will be healthy and skinny. Good luck! DOS 12/17/12
  3. I was wondering if maybe that is what I was feeling last night. I was out shopping with hubby and I started to feel light headed like I was going to pass out. I grabbed a muscle milk from cooler and felt much better after getting a few sips into me. Or maybe I was dehydrated? Need to get more liquids in. DOS 12/17/12
  4. Good luck, you will be fine. I never felt any different on the inside. No pain. The only pain was the laproscopic sites on the outside. DOS 12/17/12
  5. Just remember, if your full, you do NOT have to finish it all. We are so used to needing to finish what's on our plates. Do measure but its okay not to finish. It's a new thing to get used to. Good luck. DOS 12/17/12
  6. Yesterday was my first visit to a restaurant. (99 Restaurant). It was hard to make a decision. The waitress told me I could order from the kids menu. After pondering the nutrition info online, I got the cup seafood chowder. Only ate 1/2 and half to come home. I also had a bite of a potato skin the inside with cheese and bacon. On a good note, I fit in the booth with plenty of belly room. Never thought going would be so difficult. Baby steps. DOS 12/17/12
  7. I was on liquids for 2 weeks but I also could have SF jello, SF pudding. At 3rd week I started purée foods which I gave the list already. Do rush the liquid stage, your pouch needs to heal. You've got stitches in there and you don't want thicker foods to bust them. Try to follow the rules. DOS 12/17/12
  8. HW 308 SW 298. 12/17/12 CW 269 GW. Haven't thought about it!!! DOS 12/17/12
  9. Same here. You've got your iv supplying you liquids. They brought me chicken broth. Protein shake, apple juice but not until next day. Nothing day of surgery. Just a stick with a sponge to wet the inside of my mouth. You will need Chapstick. Major dry mouth and lips. DOS 12/17/12
  10. The dietician is a required step in the process. I first met with a nurse practitioner and surgeon ! I had a check list of testing to complete. 1. Barium swallow to test for reflux 2. Blood work 3. sleep study for sleep apnea 4. Echocardiogram 5. Psychological testing 3 visits 6. Dietician 3 visits 7. My surgeon required 5% weight loss. 8. Letter from primary care physician to surgeon stating that you are a candidate for surgery. I started process in June and had surgery in December. Sometimes this can be less - (4 months.) DOS 12/17/12
  11. Hooray! The scale finally budged after 2 weeks! 29 lbs gone! DOS 12/17/12
  12. Loose sweatpants. Same ones I wore in. I brought my pillow and used on my belly on way home. Bumpy no fun. Good luck! DOS 12/17/12
  13. Praying everything goes smoothly for you Gen! DOS 12/17/12
  14. Agree it's the milk. Switch to lactose free fat free milk. It's night and day. My diarrhea is gone. DOS 12/17/12
  15. I'm stalled for 2 weeks now too. I'm 4 weeks out, but glad I read this thread. I cannot complain, I have lost 26 lbs since surgery 12/17/12! Gotta keep on trucking along and know it will drop. Patience!!!! DOS 12/17/12
  16. I would say no! I can eat chili in 30 minutes. As long as you don't feel it in your chest that you ate too fast. And you will feel it. DOS 12/17/12
