  1. Nah none of those things will prevent clearance unless they are way out of control. I have a heart murmur and had to have a couple of echocardiograms and wear a heart monitor for 2 weeks to make sure everything was OK since I was newly diagnosed and got my clearance from there. Good luck to ya!
  2. The number on the package for the protein is just in the powder. If u mix it with milk there will be more protein. I always mix mine with milk too. I don't like the taste much with water. The two brands I have found that taste the best are Muscle Milk and Unjury. Crystal light doesn't make any protein drinks that I know of but Unjury does make unflavored protein which u could try and mix with a crystal light that u like.
  3. I have not had the surgery yet but when I talked with my surgeon last week he said the surgery is about 2 hours give or take plus time in the recovery room. He keeps the catheter in until the next day do he said pants might be hard to wear with that but I was welcome to bring them and try. He said just to make sure they are comfy around the waist because it will be sore from surgery. I talked with the anesthesiologist about my nerves before surgery and he said they wouldn't give me anything for the night before but they could the morning of to calm me down going into surgery.

    How Soon Was Your Surgery?

Wow that's great! I didn't think my insurance would cover mine at first and when I met with my surgeon he said whether I went through insurance or not he requires all of his patients to do the 3 months. But when I found out my insurance would pay (for some of it at least lol) it worked out that I had to do the 3 months for them anyway. Surgery is set for a week from today!

    How Soon Was Your Surgery?

Most insurances and doctors require at least a 2 to 3 month time period before surgery where u have to meet with the dietician and start changing old habits. So if this is your first appointment with the surgeon then you may have a while until the surgery.
  6. I think you're right about the emotional attachment to food and how you have to live without that starting with the liquid diet. I am on day 6 of mine and it's certainly better now than it was at first. I have stopped working out really hard since I don't have as much calories going in and started just going for some walks outside to get my exercise in. Not sure if your surgeon allows soups but mine does and I have been getting full on some of the cream soups that I mix with skim milk and just strain the potatoes or whatever veggies are in them.

    Protein Shake Samples

My dietician told me about unjury which is a protein that is high in protein but low on calories, fat, and sugars. You can go to their website and get samples of each flavor for 0.99 each. Both of the chocolate ones are my personal preference. I think they taste more like drinking an instant breakfast than some of those other brands of protein that can be a little chalky and thick.

    Two Opts In One! :(

I am in the same boat as you! I had no idea I had stones until my doc told me at my last apppointment. I'm scheduled on 8/7 for surgery and he said there is about a 50/50 chance he will take my gall bladder too. So I guess I'll just have to be surprised if I wake up with one or not lol
