    Stuck at 190

WOW you are doing really well. My surgery was 11/19 and you are kicking my butt. :-) Yes the bathroom can be an issue. I know this will cause me to plateau. Also, you have lost a lot of weight. Your body may just need a rest period. Keep doing what you are doing and it will continue to come off.

    Portion size

I'm four months out and still do it. It is getting much better now since it has become the 'norm' of eating. I don't miss the food as much anymore. I was sooo a volume eater.

    How do you know?

Early on you have to measure what you eat. It is so hard to "feel" since the nerves were damaged during surgery. If you eat too much you know it. It gets really uncomfortable to the point you feel like your stitches are going to burst.

    Depression

Our hormones are out of control for a while. I cried at everything the first two weeks. I was a nut ball. Then I was so ticked I could not eat. Not that I 'missed' the food, I felt unhuman. It does pass but if you are struggling call your Dr. :-)

    Belly button owie

Mine took a while to heal too but I was cut into twice so it was a little bigger. Actually, I was fighting with it about two months because I the dress pants I wore for work. The darn button was right there. I finally had to cover mine as well and used a little Neosporin. And yes, if it is red, puffy or ‘hot’ call your Dr immediately so you don’t get an infection.

    feedback

WOW Flora! That's sounds awful. My surgery was 11/19 and I have not had anything like what you described. It could be gallbladder or an ulcer. Either way I would call your Dr. immediately. Hope it works out!

    How do you know?

Hi! I can see we both went to MaGee for surgery. I had Dr. McCloskey. Anyway, if I am understanding you, it is a lot of trial and error. I took everything really slow at the beginning. I would try a bit or two of new foods and just wait. If I was OK, I'd have a little more. I can't cut my self off cold turkey with anything. So I weeded things out of my diet presurgery. Anything in particular you are looking for guidance on?
  11. Are you doing powdered or premade shakes? Premade STILL make me sick at 4 months but OK with powdered. By two months and solid foods, I was eating a lot of chicken, turkey, cheese, greek yogurt, a few crackers (My nut OK's them), cooked veggies, garden burgers, ham, etc. What in particular are you looking for?
  12. I was never told not to dye my hair. I did at about 4 weeks and three times since surgery. So far so good. BTW, My dr told me about a guy who was pureeing Big Macs. gag

    My fitness pal

Go under My Home and then pick the Goals tab. You can tweak the calories and up the Protein the carbs are linked to protein. I was more concerned with the protein so I don't worry about the 'carb' goal.

My! How my taste has changed!

Yes! I ate a chip the other day and the greasiness almost gagged me. Chicken does not thrill me anymore either. I’ve been eating a lot of lean beef.
  15. Water crackers are also a great. They helped me with getting thru some nausea. The plainer the better

    FMLA question...

Agreed. I am also a 20 year HR veteran. :-)

    Weight at 6 months

We are pretty close. My surgery was 11-19 and I am down almost 55 since surgery and almost 68 altogether. I am averaging about 10 pounds per month now so a 100 will be a while for me but I hope you do it!!
  18. Rissa, I am only down about 54 since surgery on 11/19. So we are close since I have been slowing down. Dr. says about 2-2.5 pounds per week is about normal but that includes averaging in the big drop the first month. EeyoreGirl, Thanks but my snacking has creeped up too. I hate the fact my Dr. told me to be around 900 calories. It was like giving me a license to eat. But I refuse!
  19. It all does get better! Just hang in there and vent to us!! :-)

    Question about nausea

I can be a variety of things. I was nauseated this morning for no real reason and I am 4 months out today. (Just realized that lol) I have rarely been sick. Thank Goodness! The Zofran does help and so does papaya enzyme if food is stuck.
  21. WOW BMI finally below 35 and the weight I have lost is higher than the weight I need to lose!

    Straws

If it works, then just be careful. I know at the begining I did not do well with water bottles. Once I started drinking from a glass, I was able to get my liquids in.
  23. So far my hair is OK. Keep in mind the seasons are changing and it is natural to lose hair now. I don't think I will ever take off my balconette bra again. I think they are about the same cup size but I lost my support fat. Dawn, How are you feeling?

    reached my goal today

Panda!! WTG Girl!!! You look amazing!!! I am so happy for you!!!!

    Slow loser

23 is great! I lost about 20-22 pounds then about 2-3 per week after that. About 10 per month. Also, I agree. You should be having an easier time with food by now. Give your Dr. a call. :-)
