  1. Try Isopure. Its a protien Water with 40g of protien per 20oz serving. I was rejecting everything but this. I add hawaiian punch powder to mine. I buy the fruit punch flavor and with the powder it tastes good.

I'm going to try this, Isopure is the only thing that works for me also, I'm going to start putting in Hawaiian punch powder cause I definitely hate the chalk after taste lol.... Thanks for the idea

  2. Just found out on Friday that I have to wait 3 more months to get my surgery' date=' and my surgeon is a jerk so I'm going to ask my PCM to refer me to a new surgeon and hopefully I can be done with thus process by next month. I just can't believe they would tell me that. I have tri care and my PCM approves of me doing thus so why should I have to wait 3 more months and they don't even try to work with me and my schedule and I have to drive an hour away to get there I mean come on!! This is some bull crap. I just want to give up so bad but my husband says I've come this far why stop now, it's just frustrating to here that you have done everything to lose weight on your own and when you need help with it they tell you no. I need a surgeon that can work with me and not cause all of this stress dde21

I just don't know what to do at thus point I'm going to talk to my PCM Thursday and see if he can help me with this problem and find me a better surgeon . For the people that have tri care what did you do to make the process faster and have surgery in a time frame that wasn't 4 months down the road I can't wait that long. And who do I talk to with my Heath insurance about speeding the process up, I've written a letter but I think my pmc may have to talk to them about it....

If anyone can help me get throu this it will be greatly appreciated dde0a[/quote']

I have tri care also and it took almost 7 months , mainlly because my doctor was slow rolling. But I had to attend 2 support groups a month apart, 2 nutrition appointments a month apart, tri care makes you see a heart doctor for testing I believe just a ultrasound, blood work,a sleep study, and pulmonary doctor for testing of your lungs, and the physc, than after tricare approves you you do more testing, blood work, EKG ,chest x ray, another bariatric pre surgery class... The process took forever. My surgery ended being done on my husbands deployment day

  3. You might like to try this salmon recipe!

Put the salmon on a sheet of heavy duty foil. Pour a liberal amount of your favorite salsa over it (we like to make our own but Pace is quite good in a pinch as well). Add some thin sliced lemon slices and salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle a generous amount of fresh cilantro on top. Bring the long sides of the foil together and fold them together two or three times - you're making a "tent" to steam the salmon. Make similar folds on one end - your tent has to be air tight. Now add a splash of beer to the other end - the cheaper the better' date=' it's only for moisture. And then seal the second end. Put it in an oven at 400 degrees and bake it for 20 to 30 minutes depending on how thick the salmon is. When it's done, open it carefully and put the salmon and the "sauce" in a bowl. Low cal, low fat, low carbs, super high in Protein and absolutely delicious!![/quote']

This is going to be my tomorrow dinner, I tried to drink a Protein shake this afternoon and it mess my whole day up. No dinner nothing just Water was the only thing my pouch as allowing. :(

Thanks for the well wishes & yes I will keep you all posted. We are a family here. When one person hurts we all feel it. When we lose weight we are get happy. I appreciate all of you.

Have the check you thyroid levels, my levels where to low, I was sick for days could not eat and I was vomiting off of a small sip of Water, the doctor gave me something for vomiting in the meantime it's been working.... Hope you feel better.

  5. Ok let me try this post for the third time. My day is going so bad :( So i have tri care south and as you know everything that has to do with tri care is complex everytime you need something you have to go threw your pcp first and get a refferal and then have it sumbited through tri care and wait for your pcp to call you then you call the doc they ref you to and make a appointment. Well thats what i did 2 1/2 weeks ago in order to get my pshc eval done and over with. Little did i know my time was being wasted and have to deal with the wicked bit** of the south. First off when i made my appointment the receptionist at the psychologist said Jennifer King (psychologist) said she didnt usually do evals because she was a lpc and not a md but she would do it as long as tri care and my surgeon accepted. So i then called my surgeon and they said it was fine and all i needed was one vist and the letter of approval. So today 8/6/2012 i showed up to the psychologist at 8:00 am my appointment time signed a paper and i was in. Jennifer king introduced herself and sized me up right away then led me into her office it was dark and had big couches that i sank to the bottom of it. Well 5 mins into the session she said "tell me why your here" so i told her because i need to get cleard as a pre rec for the surgery. She said well im not writting one because thats not my specialty and even if i did it would take 10 sessions to write one. So she said " what do you want me to do? i dont even know what questions to ask you. The doc should have sent me stuff to ask you" i thought she was crazy and said this session is over ive never heard of anyone not knowing what to say or questions to ask........so i walked out went to my pcp and told them what happened now i have to wait till the write another refferal and go to another phycologist and go with them. Gosh and i just want everyone to get there acts together so i can get my surgery done! Has anyone else had these problems? And how long did you have to go to the psychologist?

I have tri care too, they don't normal cover phycologist for weight loss surgery , so call a few different phycologist you doctor should have a list. And go with the cheapest one I pay $80, just look on the bright side tri care will pay 100 % of the surgery. And once you get all the test done it only takes like 3 days for approval.

  6. I have been struggling to eat and I am almost 7 weeks post-op. I have been told by everyone here that it does get better and I/you will eat again lol My only concern is the amount of weight I have lost. I am waiting for the day that protien doesnt cause me any nausea. I have been in the hospital several times for dehydration I know I am healed because I had an EDG and everything was healed. I am just waiting on a time I can drink somerthing and eat more than a bite without the nausea.

See if your doctor will give you something for nausea, my dr gave me dissolvable pills that I take every four hours and now I can drink my Protein again.

  7. Hello everyone!

I figured I'd post to say hello to everyone since I'm at the start of my journey! I had my First Pre-Op visit today to get things rolling. My 6th visit with my PCP is this coming Saturday. So I'm at the end of my 6 months' date=' hopefully! I just need to visit the psychologist for a eval, have an EGD & EKG, and an Nutritionist visit before I everything is sent off for approval. Approval is fairly easy with my insurance, I know of 2 other people who have had WLS this year with the new plan. I'm excited, yet nervous. I've tried everything including Medifast (yuck on some stuff.) Lost about 20lbs working out and with medifast. Then decided to start seeing a doctor. Hurt my knee and gain about 7lbs back. I really hope my surgery gets approved to help me lose weight so that I can be around for my husband and start a family... and be around to see my kids have kids and so on. :) I wish everyone the best of luck and look forward to making new friends and learning all I can from you all.

    Best wishes...

  8. My question is....... Do you dump on liquid drinks as well? Like a Sweet Tea? I know all about empty calories' date=' not saying I'm gonna be drinking that all day every day but maybe have a glass once a month. I mean I am in the south and it was something I enjoyed drinking it in 110 degree weather![/quote']

I tried sweet tea with a lot of ice, thankfully I didnt dump off of it!

  9. I've been carrying Water every where I go' date=' I just have the worst problem getting all of it down. I'll be glad when this struggling gets over with. I have been walking, maybe not enough do I'll step up there. I used to just chug my drinks like crazy before surgery, now with post-op life it's depressing barely being able to get anything down... And I'm super thirsty, just this gas and queasy feeling makes me hesitant.[/quote']

Try using 2oz cups and mark in a notebook every time you finish one, so you know what your intake is, than more to 3oz cups etc
