  1. You're doing great! Beautiful! I'm getting so excited. I've got one month until surgery.
  2. Yippee! Almost there. Good luck and be proud. You've worked hard, but I guess there's much to go.
  3. Well, my surgery's been moved back a week because the surgeon had a schedule conflict. Now, I'm September 25th, with you Rachel! At least it's still Sept. I've come to like our group. I hope everyone is doing well.
  4. That will be here before you know it! Good work and good luck!
  5. Good luck! Hopefully this surgery will be the beginning of the end of too much time in the hospital! Get ready for good times. Too bad we have to go through all this crap first.
  6. Good luck, Rachel! I hope you don 't have anymore setbacks. I know it gets overwhelming. I start beating myself up and have to stop and remind myself I'm going through all this to better myself. You'll get through all this!
  7. Good for you! I bet you're happy to be home.
  8. I'm sept. 18th. I want it over with, but I'm having trouble controlling my eating right now. I guess that's why I'm doing this, but I get depressed when i realize how much, how fast I gained weight. This can't come fast enough and, yet, I'm still scared. No one said it would be easy. It will all be worth it when my husband and my baby and I are hiking, camping, fishing and swimming.
  9. I've done most of my testing. Not sure how much is left. I got a EKG yesterday and a chest x-ray today, so I have proof that I have a heart. Of course, my Mom suggests I get my head examined. She's sure they won't find anything. Ha ha! I've been reading lots of posts by everybody. I wish this was less stressful for everyone, but I must admit, it does help to know that so many of us deal with all the surgery stress + other stress. Helps me feel like I will make it out just fine on the other side... And so will you!
  10. Leslie- Chunkypudding date of surgery 9/18/12 ? Hopefully
  11. How are you doing? I hope all is great!
  12. What are bat wings?
  13. Mine already point south, so I can't imagine how much worse they can get. My husband doesn't seem to mind so I'm not sure if I'll invest in a lift later or not.
  14. Does he lift you up or try to put you down? Do you want your child to think he is a good role model? Get a good support network! Find friends who want the best for you and get away from him if he can't stay sober long enough to actually journey through life with you move on without him.
  15. Howdy! My date is Sept. 18th. I'm excited, scared. Up, down. I've told everybody and anybody, but I could never keep a secret. I also have wondered to myself if I'm trying to convince people that I know I'm fat and won 't always be. Good luck to everyone. Just getting through the next few weeks of doctors appointments seems a daunting task.
  16. I just got mine today. Pretty quickly after insurance approved me. Of course I did have three months of different appts to get approval, but time has flown by so far!
  17. Thanks! It has already started to blur together- sleep study, weight checks, psych visits, etc... Will be nice to get to go a few weeks with no doctors at all. After all, life keeps going on around me. Isn't that why I'm doing this? If all goes well, I should lose most of my weight by spring next year. I can't wait for swimming, fishing, hiking, and camping again!
  18. Of, course I still have a huge list of tests and checks to get done before then. My EGD is Friday. I'm sure missing alot of work, not just for Dr. Appts, but also for my 7month old son. I just hope I don't get fired before insurance works out. FMLA don't fail me now. Too bad you can't limit your stressors to one at a time. I hope everyone else is doing fine!
  19. I'm still getting all the tests and waiting for insurance approval. I'm also finding it very hard to control my binging. Each trip to McDonalds may be my last, or so I'm behaving. I hope I'm less than a month away. My heart gets tight with worry when I think too much about actual surgery and the first week after.
