STALL/PLATEAU...... PLEASE HELP!
On April 1st I will be 6 months post-op. So far, I have lost a total of 66 pounds which I am very grateful for. However for the last few weeks the scale has only move up and down within 1 pound. Am I at a plateau? Am I doing something wrong? Am I done losing? I would LOVE to lose another 50 pounds. I walk A LOT, and go to the gym about twice a week. Are there any foods I should be avoiding/ stop eating? I eat: meats - chicken, turkey and beef (sometimes) Beans - black beans, chili beans, pinto beans, split peas Soup Most Seafood - shrimp, crab legs, fish, and salmon Vegetables expect, starchy {potatoes}. (Fresh or Frozen) Dairy (cheese, Greek yogurt, almond milk Nuts (Sliced Almonds and All natural Peanut Butter no sugar added. (I used to almonds in my greek yogurt(1/2 serving) and peanut butter on fresh fruit) Seasoning and ingredients that have sugars listed 5th and below I try to get in about 800-900 calories a day. Is that to low, to high? What am i doing wrong? Any suggestions on how I can getting the scale moving again? This is VERY depressing . All comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!!! This is a lifestyle change and learning process. I am still learning......

Hi Niki, Its still a challenge for me to meet my protein goal. I try to shot for 60g of protein a day however it seem like I've been getting in about 40-50 a day. The vitamins are a whole different story. Since the surgery i have not been able to tolerate any artificial sweeteners, so i have to force myself to get the chewable vitamins down. To be honest i do forget to take them sometimes because its such a challenge for me. I've even tried crushing them and eating the powder... Hopefully it will get better for me. I might start breaking them in half and see if that helps.

Highest weight ever: 261.4 Weight day of surgery: 249.0 Current weight as of today: 220.0 It seems like my progress has been really slow compared to other on rnytalk.com however I am happy with my continuous progress. I so cant wait to get out of the 200s. I have been doing a lot of walking, however my goal for this month is to get even more active in the gym. Claire

Please be careful with dark pee. The last time my pee was dark, I ended up back in the hospital for 5 days partly because of extreme dehyration. I was so dehyrated they had to give me a PICC line because they were unable to give me a "normal" IV after 5 failed attempts. keep sipping!! Hopeful its because of the vitamins.

Yes, I pee at least 3-4 times a day. The more I drink (sip) the more I pee.

Update: hey everyone I am back in the hospital. This time they admitted me and I don't know how long they are keeping me. Today I feel the beat I've ever had since the surgery. The nurse even said im getting my color back. Tomorrow I have more test, they are still trying to figure out what's wrong. So far I've had an ultrasound, MRI, x-ray. On top of that they had to do a PICC Line because no one could get to another vain and my doctor wanted blood work done. Please keep me in your prays, I just want to feel normal again- October Surgery Dates
OMG thats awsome! I pray i will get to that point soon.... I have a long way to go- October Surgery Dates
Update: So I had to go the ER today where I had my surgery because I was dehydrated and my potassium was really low. Now I'm on more meds. Also I can't eat anything because everything makes me vomit so I was told to sip all day.- October Surgery Dates
My surgery was 10/1/2012 and I am so weak. My NP to me I need to get my protein in however last night I tried cottage cheese and woke up with back pains and cramps and all I could do was cry. I want to get my required protein in so bad but i can't tolerate protein drinks anymore. Everyone says it gets easier but, WHEN? This is hell for me. - October Surgery Dates
