how has your surgery changed your life?
Kellyk2511 replied to Lovebone89's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats to all of you. I love reading these. -
I'm the 11th as well!

My last weigh in was Monday, I called insurance yesterday and they hadn't gotten any info yet. I got a call this morning all is approved and I have a surgery date of 2/11! A month from tomorrow. I'm so excited I'm shaking. In the back of my head I was waiting for denial or some other reason this wouldn't happen. I'm so happy!

My final weigh in will be mid January, so I'm hoping for a February date as well.

Decided in June that I'm going to do the surgery. Since then I have done SO much research I feel as though I'm a pro already lol. This board has been amazing and makes me so excited. I found out insurance is covering it 100% except a $35 copay and a surgeons fee of $350. Their requirements are cardiology clearance, lung test, psych evaluation and 6 months worth of weigh ins. I got clearance from all already and have my 2nd weigh in tomorrow. 4 more to go. Last one will be mid January. In the meantime I'm trying to lose as much as possible but I'm going to enjoy the hell out of Thankgiving & Christmas this year. I'm thinking surgery will be in February, and it can't come soon enough!

Congrats on your awesome loss so far! I know it's normal to lose hair for a few different reasons. The rapid weight loss and also the anesthesia. I'm a hair stylist and I'm nervous about losing it al well. I'm definitely looking into taking Biotin. Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk -
Push through it. Maybe up your workouts? Logging everything is key for me and I haven't had the surgery yet. Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk

I used to have those dreams years after quitting smoking. I'd dream I smoked and then woke up hating myself before realizing it was just a dream. Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk

I think it's normal. Every food I cook, every restaurant I pass, I think "this might be the last time I eat this". Congrats on the surgery date! Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk

Omg that is so scary! I'm glad they were smart about it and stopped the surgery, but I can't even imagine how disappointed you must be. So what's the next step? Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk -
Same thing with my insurance. I was hoping for sooner but oh well, it will be here before we know it. Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk
