Since you are not getting what is the recommended about that our surgeons say we should get, your body has probably put itself in starvation mode so it is holding on to all that it can. You need to drink lots of liquids and eat the recommend amounts.

oh my!
I hope you are feeling better and are getting all the liquids and nutrition that you need. Being in the hospital is no fun.

I had a friend to massage my upper back and that help to relase the gas for me along with lots and lots of walking.

The main thing is do not compare yourself to others weight loss. You are your own person and will loose different from others. Also the expected weight loss in one year is 100lbs, so you are doing wonderful.

My Dr said when I ready to go for it. 2 Weeks and I was there.

Remember you need to walk alot after surgery. So you want to be moving. You do not want blood clots.
Also if you get gas you want to move inorder to release it. Best of all just do as the doctor says and you will be fine.
I took off a month just so that I was on pureed foods when I got back to work. It made lunch time easier on me.

Thank you. At times I wonder if I am eating too much or too little.

Today was my 2 week check up from my revision. I am so happy that I am down 12 lbs!!
I am very excited about this. I also get to start back on my Zumba class and lifting weights to music class next week. It is strange I am feeling the need to do more of that type of exercise than I am of walking.

When I had my bypass in 2010 I was not nervous at all. I was so ready. when I had my revision on the 22nd of June I was fine until they put me in the OR waiting area. That was when I started getting scared. I just prayed and prayed plus had a stern talk with myself that everything would come out fine.
You will be fine,

Hello Rhon.....my new surgery date is next Wednesday, July 11! Scared but excited.
Will be praying for you. I wasnt scared until they rolled me in the OR waiting area. It was strange. I had to have a stern talk with myself.

The revision that I went though for my RNY was called an overstitch (it is new). What they did was go thought 3 little lap incisions in my stomach and 3 tubes down my throat. Then went in and they over stitched the opening to my stoma. This is to reduced that size of the stoma (from 3cm to .8cm). The recovery is the same as the rny and you are put back on the same diet as you had when you first had your RNY.

Hi
I am new here too. You just never know what you will find on google. LOL
I had my surgery in July of 2010. I had some complications in the begining, Due to gout and blood clots. the recovery from blood clots was 6 months, so that was the time I should have been working my new tool, but couldnt. I lost 89lbs and stopped. Then all of a sudden I started gaining weight again. So after talking to my surgeon we elelcted to revise my RNY.
So on the 22 of June I had my revision. So far so good. But of course I am still on Clear liquids. I go for my two week follow up on the 5th.
I wish you luck on what ever you choose to do

Well....I couldn't get in to my PCP's office today. I was told by the secretary that I couldn't see a NP and the covering doctor couldn't give me the medical release that it HAD to come from my PCP. She's on vacation until 6/12 and even then I couldn't get an appointment until June 22. So....I called my Bariatric center again, they said they were going to look into a few things and get back to me. Never got a call but, then received one from my surgeon's office. In the end I was given a date of 7/11 and no one else got back to me so I have to assume now that that is my new date. I'm upset but, nothing I can do about it. I"m at the freaking mercy of "one line" that was missing on my PCP's letter to my insurance. The medical release line. I guess saying I was a long standing patient of the practice who suffers with morbid obesity and hypertension. I feel she would benefit from Gastric Bypass surgery at Tufts Medical with Dr. Abeles..wasn't enough. Unreal! I can really say I HATE Cigna Carelink! I thought I had Tufts Medical insurance but, nooooo I have the plan that is Tufts but, goes through Cigna Carelink. (sigh)
Sorry for complaining.....Its just that I had all my ducks in a row with work, home and help with care and now I have to figure it all out again. Talk about having to practice the DON'T EAT YOUR EMOTIONS stuff! Thank God I've been able to keep that at bay......many months of working that out...at least that's something positive
So How did it go? Did you ever get to have it?

It does get better. Just takes time. The itching could be an allergic reaction. Call you doctor.
