I was told to buy Sena or another non bulking laxative as apparently pooping can be a problem post surgery.
-
I see it, but it only allows a URL link not attachments. An I being dim?

Me and my new blender lolNow pictures are just showing off! I haven't figured out how to do that yet

I get this all the time, some people even go as far as to use their X-ray vision and tell me things like "you're just big boned". WTF? I've also been told by a number of people that I won't logo as good thinner! Do these people really think about what they're saying.
I'm actually not that big. I weigh 260 and I'm 5'8 with a BMI of 39 and 36 years old. However I'm on 2 blood pressure medications and now borderline diabetic.

I Haven't quite worked out from posts and speaking to doctors etc. whether I will feel hungry following surgery. They say things like "you will know when your pouch is full". Is that because I won't feel hungry anymore? Can someone help me understand how this works? Thanks

Hey Paul . Me too. Surgery on the 1st August.

Kaylee, I can't see why you shouldn't be able to ask that. However I don't know that you are going to get a reliable answer from anyone. Even if somebody has been doing it without any issues, doesn't mean they won't start to get them down the line. I think the question is whether you really need it and if there are alternatives? I have a serious back condition that requires me to take NSAIDS that also cause ulcers. My doctors are busy trying to find other management options ahead of the surgery. If its medicinal use I would go back and push a bit harder with your doc.

I'm from the south so I love comfort food lol ... But honestly... I think my clothes :/ I invested a lot of money in them and I don't know what to do with them ! Lol it's bitter sweet but I can't wait to go into regular size people stores !I like expensive clothes as well. Im going to sell mine on eBay to cover some of the cost of new ones. As I'm losing im going to buy cheap stuff from H&M, then have a massive splurge when im at my goal weight! I can't wait to be able to get into A&F

Good on you Sean. It's amazing how shortsighted insurance companies can be. I have private medical insurance in the UK and WLS is excluded from the policy, because it is regarded as cosmetic - whatever your weight!!

My nutritionist said some very powerful words of wisdom..."Can you have sugar free ice cream?" The answer was yes. But' date=' "SHOULD you have sugar free ice cream" not a very good choice when its so important to get all of your nutrients in with such a small pouch. She went on to say make your food choices countSent from my Nexus S 4G using RNYTalk[/quote']
Sounds sensible, but surely even post RNY food can't only be about nutrition. You've still got to find things to enjoy, even if the are not always the most nutritious choice...
...or am I being an ignorant pre-op newbie?

Nice to see another Brit! Lol. How are you?
I'm great. Due to have surgery on the 1st August with Mr Appleton in High Wycombe. Did you pay for your surgery?

What are your stories guys? Why WLS?39, BMI of 39, surgery on 1st August. Currently have high BP and borderline diabetes. Want a normal BMI by the time I'm 40!

All the way from the UK

That was maybe a bit dramatic, but it really annoys me that when people give you an opinion on whether you should do RNY, it's always based on how good they think you look.

I'm having a final blow out with all my fovourite things (maybe not Champagne and beer!) with my closets friends 2 days before my liquid diet starts to Celebrate the start of my new life.

I'm treating myself to my RNY. I've done a lot of research and am 100% sure this is right for me. Only thing I'm really going to miss is a pint of ale in the local pub on a Friday night!
Is This Strange?

I don't thanks it's the calm before the storm. My surgery was 10 days ago and I was out of my bed using the toilet within 15 mins of getting back to my room. I had absolutely no pain at any point and didn't use any pain killers. I was discharged from hospital in under 48 hours and I'm going back to work tomorrow.
Everything I eat (purée until 4th Sept) goes down very nicely. I don't feel hungry and am currently losing the 7lb a week target my dietician has set.
I was walking the dog over a mile within 5 days of surgery and am planning a 5 mile walk today.
I have to say that I feel great, have loads of energy and don't feel like I've even had surgery.
