Is This Strange?
I don't thanks it's the calm before the storm. My surgery was 10 days ago and I was out of my bed using the toilet within 15 mins of getting back to my room. I had absolutely no pain at any point and didn't use any pain killers. I was discharged from hospital in under 48 hours and I'm going back to work tomorrow. Everything I eat (purée until 4th Sept) goes down very nicely. I don't feel hungry and am currently losing the 7lb a week target my dietician has set. I was walking the dog over a mile within 5 days of surgery and am planning a 5 mile walk today. I have to say that I feel great, have loads of energy and don't feel like I've even had surgery.

You Arent That Big Expression !
I get this all the time, some people even go as far as to use their X-ray vision and tell me things like "you're just big boned". WTF? I've also been told by a number of people that I won't logo as good thinner! Do these people really think about what they're saying. I'm actually not that big. I weigh 260 and I'm 5'8 with a BMI of 39 and 36 years old. However I'm on 2 blood pressure medications and now borderline diabetic.

How Hungary Are You Post Op?
I Haven't quite worked out from posts and speaking to doctors etc. whether I will feel hungry following surgery. They say things like "you will know when your pouch is full". Is that because I won't feel hungry anymore? Can someone help me understand how this works? Thanks

I'm great. Due to have surgery on the 1st August with Mr Appleton in High Wycombe. Did you pay for your surgery?- Tacky Comments!
That was maybe a bit dramatic, but it really annoys me that when people give you an opinion on whether you should do RNY, it's always based on how good they think you look.- What Are You Going To Miss Most?
I'm having a final blow out with all my fovourite things (maybe not Champagne and beer!) with my closets friends 2 days before my liquid diet starts to celebrate the start of my new life.- What Are You Going To Miss Most?
I think I'm going to miss beer, champagne and chocolate- Hi All :)
Thanks Michelle- Hi All :)
Going to miss Champagne as well- Waiting On Approval
Would be cool if it ended up on the same day. Just sent u a PM- Waiting On Approval
1st August and can't wait- Hi All :)
I'm treating myself to my RNY. I've done a lot of research and am 100% sure this is right for me. Only thing I'm really going to miss is a pint of ale in the local pub on a Friday night!- Waiting On Approval
Oh! I should also sat that RNY is pretty rare on the NHS. My surgery on the 1st August is costing me £12,000, but I'm sure it will be worth it.- Waiting On Approval
- Hi All :)
Thanks mami- Where Is Everyone From?
London, but travel a lot to Paris, Milan, Zurich and NYC. Surgery on 1st August with Mr Appleton in High Wycombe, UK.- Tacky Comments!
People say to me "you look great big and you dont need to lose weight" *NEWSFLASH* I have a BMI of 39 and will I still look "great" when diabetes leads to me having toes amputated or I'm in ITU after a massive heart attack? Why do people assume I'm doing this for vanity. I already look "great" but that's not the friggin point! - Where Is Everyone From?
