that was the sugar...it's why they tell us NO SUGAR....I have had dumping once myself because I ate to fast. Learned my lesson. That was the worst. I hope you continue to do well. I guess we all have to learn the hard way sometimes. Like I did with eating to fast. Sucks big time. Good luck.

Yes My husband has said to me several times that my personality has changed a lot since the surgery (Oct. 1,2013). I wasn't sure why. Thanks for understanding.

Congratulations that is so awesome. My surgery was Oct. 1, 2013 and I weighed 242 this morning. pre surgery weight was 287 so I am very happy so far only 5 weeks post op. Keep up the good work.

I had my surgery on Oct. 1st. I got c-diff while in the hospital. Still afraid to leave home and be away from the potty. Other than that I've been really good. Almost done with the 2 week post op liquid diet. Can't wait to have a scrambled egg. So glad everyone is doing well. Lost 10 lbs the first week plus 20 lbs the 2 weeks pre op liquid. So relieved its working.

I know what you mean about eating the same thing over and over. I am 1week post op and on liquid still. Have one more week of liquid then go to pureed foods. Good luck.

My surgery was October 1st and my husband won't let me near the kitchen...today was the first day he has eaten anything around me. I keep telling him it doesn't bother me cause I have NO appetite. The thought of food hurts my pouch lol. Starting to get a little energy back.

I did stay with Dr. Kligman and am so glad that I did. As my surgery date got closer everyone was so helpful. The date of my surgery he came to the pre-op room and was very reassuring. I am now 5 days post op. feeling pretty good

Hello I am so glad to see this post. I am 4days post op. on my second day I started with diarrhea that evening and they didn't say anything about C-Diff. Thursday evening the said they would be doing a culture to see what it was. I'm sure they knew before the culture but didn't start the antibiotic till late that night. I came home on Friday afternoon and still have bad diarrhea. I am afraid to leave my house. I'm just walking around inside and sleeping and drinking G-2.

I went to Dr. Mark Kligman at the University of MD. He is very good and makes sure that you are aware of all that you need to do to have a successful outcome. His whole staff are always willing to answer questions.

My surgery is later this morning. I'm too excited to sleep. Or to anxious cant tell the difference now. My husband is a nervous wreck and will be till I get into recovery. I have to be at the hospital at 6 am. Guess I should try to sleep for a few minutes. Good luck to all.

Hi Stacey,
My surgery date is October 1st and I start my two week pre-op diet on tuesday. Not looking forward to that part of it. I don't have a buddy and if you don't mind one in a different state I am available. I live in Baltimore MD.

I am scheduled for October 1st. I start the Liquid Protein pre-op diet on the 17th of Sept. I am not looking forward to that part of it as I have heard that it is the hardest part. I am excited about the surgery and looking forward to getting healthy.

October1st...is my date. Can't wait. It's been over a year since I started this process. Have been so discouraged because of the time it has taken to just get a date. I live in Baltimore, MD. Would love a buddy.

Hi ButterflyRN
I felt like all of my questions were answered when I went for my 1st visit but I do not feel supported at all. The nutritionist that I have been seeing is Mary B. and she seems nice enough and very informative but no warm fuzzies at all. I would suggest that you get to know some of the people at your nutrition visits. That hour passes too quickly and the things you think about and want answers to you should write down and discuss them there or look around online and see what you can find out. I have several friends who have gone thru the rny and have been very helpful in answering questions....much more than the drs office. I thought about changing drs at my second nutritionist visit and now wish i had. I have heard many good things about the people at St Agnes tho I didn't really like their presentation when I went. I have heard that they are more in touch with you during the 6 months wait. I wish you luck in your process.

Hi
I am planning to have my surgery at University of MD hospital also. The doctor that I saw was Dr. Mark Kligman. I am in my 6th month of seeing the nutritionist and finishing up my final screenings and exams. The closer that the time gets the more I think about it and the more difficult it is to not eat everything not nailed down. I wish I had more visits with the dr before the surgery. Who are you seeing?

I know what you mean - chicken is hard for me too and so is tuna fish. I can do flounder, sea bass, tilapia, but no tuna. I am almost 7 weeks post op and still have to do mush. I am not looking forward to this week having to discontinue the Protein shakes for a regular meal and get all of my Protein from food. I don't think it is going to happen right away.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving....it's not all about the food.
