  1. I too heard nothing but horror stories and negativity as I prepared for surgery. People also told me I was choosing the lazy way out. If I would just buckle down I would be normal. Well, today I tell those same people to kiss my ass when thy tell me how amazing I look and how shocking my results are. I have lost 185 pounds in the last year and I now expect I will see my daughters marry and have children. Nothing better than that.

  2. You look great and you do look like two different people it is amazing. What do you attribute your great weight loss success after your surgery? I need to have the same mindset since I am having surgery next Monday. I need all the support I can get. Thanks

I truly follow my diet plan to a t and try to work out 4 times a week or 30 minutes. If I am not up posed to eat it I don't, and I am very careful to take all of my Vitamins.

  3. It seems that I am the exception but I had no problems at all. I was off of work for one week, and just hit four weeks. I focused very hard on preparing for surgery, and I lost 53 lbs in the two months prior to the surgery. I also worked out as much as I could leading up to surgery to be in the best shape I could. I am amazed at how good I feel. I started at 389, weighed 336 the day, and weigh 306 now.

  4. I have lost 66 and haven't really felt any difference in my bad knee. My Doctor told me once the bone is damaged nothing brings it back, but the pressure relief will help some. I am still getting used to not taking Advil as that made a huge difference when I could.

  5. I know exactly how you are feeling. We were on vacation the second week of my liver shrinking diet. It was so hard watching my daughters eat pizza and fried seafood. It was all worth it. I lost 20 lbs on the diet for a total of 53 leading up to surgery, and my surgery was on the 19th and it is going great. Stay strong and it will all be worth it.

  6. I also felt it was not too bad after the first couple of days. It is important to walk as much as you are able as it helps with the gas and the pain. I am 8 days out and feel great. Just a little worn out still. I also focused very hard on walking prior to surgery to help me be in better shape. I started at 389 lbs 3 months before surgery and was 336 on the day of surgery. That was a huge help. Down to 323 at the Dr. Today.

  7. What is this drain? My surgery is in a month and I meet with the nurse on 7/3 I'm definitely going to ask about the drain.

Some surgeons leave a drain in your belly for a few days after surgery. Not all Dr.s do. It is to monitor the fluids that drain for infection.
