    Dr. Sandor in MA

I have had two other bariatric surgeons. One moved to California and the other i went to for over a year before transferring to Dr. Sandor. He is Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I recently revised from band to vsg and could not speak more highly of a dr. or his staff. Good luck.

    Is this restriction?

I find that certain things sit differently in my pouch and restriction is not really a factor. Things like triscuits sit heavy and now after several fills so do things like cheez-its - both of which are not the best of band foods. Chicken wings sound delicious!! I got stuck on them once, because I forgot and ate the skin...not a good idea!

Which foods can you not eat?

My pa said that rice is the most common food that she hears people cannot tolerate with the band. It was the first food I had trouble with and as much as I loved it, I have gotten used to not eating it anymore. There is nothing like being miserably stuck to make you not want that food again! I find as long as I keep my meats moist, i.e., applesauce with pork, low-fat gravy with chicken or beef, things go down well. With each fill you may lose foods - this last fill made crackers and chips difficult to eat (it's a good thing - isn't this why I got the band??). I have however, willed myself to be able to eat pasta. I would die if I had to give that up - and I always eat at least the cheese and sauce on pizza. everyone is different and you won't know until you try with each fill. It is all worth it - you will feel and look so much better that it's worth giving up some of the foods you thought you loved, but maybe just liked alot : )

    Do you use straws?

Funny you mentioned the iced coffee - I was banded in November and being ever so careful and diligent not to use a straw when one day I realized that I probably had six iced coffees in the last few months and drank with a straw every time!! Now I use the straw only for my iced coffee which I drink far more often because it's summer. I don't have any issues and feel fine - but I am careful to try not to intake too much air. I am afraid to try soda - and am keeping it that way since it has no redeeming value anyway.

    Constipation SOS

Just thought I'd let you know about a new product i picked up this week ... All Bran Fiber Drink - it's a powder designed to be added to bottled water - I bought iced tea and each pouch has 10 g fiber. Tastes just like crystal lite or similar types of drink mix in.

    Rash..under my stomach (apron)

It sounds like yeast. The doctors can prescribe creams, but I have found the rash to keep coming back. My solution has been a mild antipersperant daily after the shower to keep it at bay. Good luck.

    Shortie Porties--Banders that are short!

Only 5 feet tall here myself. For those wondering what they'll look like there is a website called myvirtualmodel and you key in height, weight, if you are full chested, etc. and then the model is you! It is fun to see the difference at different weights.

    women only-question regarding tom

waited a long time for my first period after surgery and then it lasted twice as long as normal and was very heavy flow. Feel like it is coming again soon - slight weight gain due to fluid. Yuck

Is it a spasm or an hiccup?

I know everyone says its a sign of restrictions but I think it's like a baby who needs a burp. I feel very full before the hiccup and then it makes room and I am comfortable.
