  1. I remember missing crunchy food!!! All three of my aunts who had the surgery kept telling me to eat one thing "PORK RINES" now I know people are going to disagree... I must of told then no 50xs before finally giving in at around 1 month post op.... And they were HEAVEN! I took little bites.. Did NOT eat the super hard crunchy ones and just chewed them up until they all but dissolved in my mouth.... Before I ate those I would snack on a couple gerber baby puff treats ... But they're high in sugar and everything else except Protein where as the pork rines have a bunch of protein... :) just a suggestion :)

  2. I'm sorry you feel aweful :( although Protein is VERY IMPORTANT .. You are only a couple days out of surgery the only thing you NEED to get in is Water and as much protein as you can... My doctor told me to just worry about WATER ... Sip sip sip walk walk walk.... And about the diarrhea ... I was the same way ... Almost messed myself a couple times... I was told its because of several things but completly normal. Hang in there... The beginning can be very rough for some of us (my first month was AWEFUL!!!) but it's completly worth it!!

  3. I just hit 50 lb loss this week too. I'll have to get a picture taken and post it.

    Awesome!!!!! And yes you do!!

Didn't you wanna do the happy dance when you hit 50lbs gone!!!!!! I was in my doctors office and litteraly pumped up my arms and shouted "woohoo" the nurses came in to make sure I was ok and after they saw tears of joy they knew :)..... I'm so emotional lmao!!

  4. I know I'm a day late' date=' but that is a running theme in my busy life. Lol

Surgery was April 25th and I was 250. Down now to 190. The strange thing about it, is I wear a size M. I think a lot of it has to do with being very active. I keep thinking the scale should read lower, and it always makes me a bit sad to see it doesn't. I'm glad I have this forum, because I have found since the surgery, I have next to no support. I had one friend who quit talking to me all together because she didn't want me to do of in the first place. I told her I couldn't stay that weight at 5'3" it was killing me. And my bf just looks at me and says "your still fat, and you took the easy way out." funny how alone it can make you feel when you have no one to talk to about it.[/quote']

I'm sorry your BF is so mean about your surgery... That's just awful! You did NOT take the easy way out!!! I'm so sick of hearing that! (in my own life as well) .... Nothing about this surgery has been or will be, easy!! I think you made a HARD choice that has benefited your health and life greatly... If people can't understand that or refuse to.... It's out of jealousy and nothing more.......

You look Wonderful!!!!!! and I'm jealous you're under 200!!!!!!!!! Lol keep it up <3

  5. We go to the pool alot and when I sit my wet butt on the concrete it makes a huge mark :(

Also when hanging our shirts and shorts over a chair mine are twice the size of everyone else's.

I was just thinking the same thing!!

Also, I'd like to be able to just Jump out of the pool instead of waddling out like a sea lion or having to always swim to the stairs (not the metal ones cause I'm terrified my fat ass will rip them of trying to tug my big butt out!!)

  6. Thanks! This has been pretty tough. It brings me to tears to see him in pain cause he is so strong. I told him I wish I could take ur pain and put it on me...he said no... I won't let u. Then he told me he felt so blessed to hav a good and beautiful wife to be with him thru this...so blessed! Wow my hubby is so sweet!! I'm the truly blessed one. Can't wait to joke with him....snoooorrreee....ice! Ice chips!!...snnnoooorree...ice!!! Icechips!!! Lol

Glad he's doing well!!! And Lol about the ice chips...... I swear ice has become my BEST FRIEND after surgery!! Warm drinks make me gag, they HAVE to be super cold!!!

  7. I am still pre-op but hav started going to the gym to prepare and get on the Protein shakes. I agree that a gym buddy is a huge help. Also' date=' what has helped me is hiring a trainer. They push u and u want to do it so u keep trying. I feel your pain though. I have a bad knee and te elliptical hurt like crazy. I'm hoping post op that te knee will hurt less as weight drops.

    Hang in there![/quote']

I agree :) Thanks!! && I Hope your knee pain heels up post op.

  8. I was like that too its good to have a gym buddy to make you want to go! I also found having an mp3 player helps a lot while at the gym....funny thing is I end up wanting to go longer on the treadmill because there ends up a new song on the I heart radio app so I end up doing more than my 30 minutes!

Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

I think you're right about the Gym buddy!! I need to convince some of my friends to just "join" me ,-) .... I usually listen to pandora durring my work out even tried watching a show on Netflix.... Years ago I would read while walking on the treadmill or bike..... Hopefully it just takes time.... Once I don't have as much weight on me I pray it just get easier :)

  9. I'm almost 7 weeks post-op. and I go to the gym every other day..... but I still dread it.... I haven't reached that point where I strive on the work out..... Instead, I jog on the elliptical and steady watch the time and distance.... Waiting for it to be over cause it hurts and I always feel like I can't catch my breath............. Please tell me this has happened to some of you and eventually it gets easier .........

  10. Not sure how your doctor is about the gain but mine was actually not surprised when people gained... his response in group was "well, if you were capable of doing it ALL on your own, you wouldn't exactly need this surgery, would ya"

Plus you have health reasons .... Talk to your Dr. :) I'm sure he/she will be supportive!
