    This It I Am Dumping!

I did the same thing tonight with some pork chops I put in the crock pot. I thought maybe it was too dry...Idk. All I do know it did not settle at all. Could have been not chewed well. Anyway...after praying to the porcelain god...I feel much better. I think the white foam is because we don't have stomach acid anymore...its just the saliva we swallow. I have it too. Live and learn I guess
  2. Wow! The first part is great. Especially the sleeping in part. Honestly I cannot remember a time that I went to bed before 10pm and woke up later than 5-6am. Seriously congrats. Go buy them kids something! lol The second part is really difficult and I can relate. No one in my house is watching what they eat, so they eat all kinds of stuff that even at 13 weeks I CHOOSE not to eat. I started this journey to see it through til the end and that is what I plan to do. It is not easy sometimes and I struggle, but so far I have made it. That is all that matters.

    Hair Loss

Mine is really long and really thick as well. I am just now 13 weeks out from surgery and I just had to have 8 inches cut off my hair. The problem I think is that it is not getting enough nutrients (I even take 1000mcg of sublingual biotin 3x per day) to get the hair what it needs. I would not cut it off just yet. Just see how your hair handles the surgery. You will be able to tell. Mine is starting to thin, my beautician told me there are some noticeable balding areas on my head. She recommended DS Labratories shampoo and a good conditioner. There is nothing that will stop the loss of hair, but you can promote the growing process which is what the DS Labratories does. Someone else suggested Nioxin but this only makes your hair seem thicker and does not promote any growth. Just some things that I have researched and gotten suggestions on. I have taken all my vitamins and get more than enough of my protein, so I am sure it is a hormone thing. It seems to happen around the same time for everyone 3-4months. Good luck and I hope this helps. Be sure to start your biotin early. This may help, but I can't promise anything.

    Workouts After Wls

Wow! That is great! The closest one to me is almost an hour away...so that is not going to be good because that will give me an excuse not to go. That would be a great thing for me and my kids if it was closer though. Thanks so much for the information though.

Need Your Help My Peeps !

Watch the MIO. I found on the label that is does contain caffeine. Most of those do. Crystal Light is a good choice or try low calorie Gatorade (or G2). Bottom line is, to stay healthy you have to get all these things in. You gotta find your way of getting it all in. It took me 4 weeks to figure mine out. It is hard in the beginning to find what works for you, but you had this surgery to make a change, and that's what this is. I hope you find what you can handle. Look through the forums on here. There is so many people on here giving their suggestions one of them has to work. We can get through this together.

    Hydration Question

Hello everyone. I am 3 months out tomorrow. I had so much trouble in beginning with getting my liquids, protein, and vitamins in. I felt so full all the time that I did not want to try anything. The only thing that I can say is that I just kept trying every day to get what I could in. One day it will just happen. I am not sure that I did anything any different than any other day, I just kept trying. It is so hard in the beginning, but one day it will just happen. Try not to stress about it. Just work at getting all your numbers in and it will happen. Those three things: protein, water, and vitamins are the three most important things for you right now. I had tons of protein shakes planned out for after surgery and could not drink any of them after surgery. You just have to keep trying to find something that works! You all can do it. You can't give up. You have to keep trying and it will work out. I spent a lot of money trying to find 1 shake that I could handle. This is a HUGE trial and error process. Learn to work with your "tool" (your pouch) and not try to work against it. It is an adjustment for the both of you! Learn to love it...even when it doesn't seem to love you in return! lmao. Hope this helps everyone.
  9. Has anyone taken any water pills after RNY surgery during your period to help with the feeling of being bloated. I feel horrible. I feel like I am retaining 100 pounds of water. I just didn't know if you can take it after RNY.

    Water Pills

How are you getting that "fixed" because I am over this crap. I have had 3 kids ...I am done with this! I cannot take any birth control which stops your periods because the hormones in them cause blood clots in my legs.

    Friday Weigh-In!

Last week 239.6 This week 234.6 (I will take it since Aunt Flow is in town and I feel like I am retaining 100 pounds of water) By the way...has anyone taken a water pill after RNY during your monthly visitor to make you feel less bloated?

    Protein

My doctor told me to start the protein shakes 5 days after surgery. I had to pass gas first then start my 5 day count. Not sure what this was for, but this is what I was told and what I did. Do not buy a lot before surgery though, because I did and ended up not liking any of what I bought. I wasted so much food after surgery because my taste changed so much after surgery I couldn't eat or drink what I could before. Get a good sample of quite a few different ones before. As far as what you can put into proteins shakes just about anything you can stomach...everything has to be liquid and try to keep the acid down. I just drank the premixed ones. I am currently doing premier protein because it is 1 gram of sugar and 30 grams of protein.

    Take Note

Yes it has happened to me to. I just try to ignore them, but its so hard. I know some of the people that I have told that I had the surgery won't hardly even talk to me. I guess we weren't that good of friends anyway.

    What Is It Like?

I am also an emotional eater. I have had to try to change those habbits. I am trying to instead of snack when I am upset or bored, to write down what I am thinking and work through my problems that way. This site is good for that. If something is bothering you there is a good chance that someone else is going through the same thing. It is a life style change. You have to decide you don't want to do that anymore and find another outlet for your emotions.

    Pickles

I have never heard about not having seeds...ooops! lol I have been eating them and they have stayed down fine. The seeds in pickles are pretty soft though.

    Melatonin!?

My son (10yrs old) takes Melatonin. I have taken it a couple of times to help me sleep, and apparently it has the opposite affect on me. It takes me forever to get to sleep and then I only sleep for 2-3 hours and then I am wide awake :/ it is so frustrating when you are already battling sleep. Hopefully it works better for you

    Pickles

Wow! Love all the ideas for pickles!!! I am going to try some of these new ones. I think I started eating tuna about 3-4 weeks out. I can only stomach the tuna in pouches not the can. If the smell bothers you, you may want to try rinsing it before eating it. I have to do that sometimes too.

    Pickles

Pickles are my favorite! I take a pickle and put 1 slice of lunchmeat on it (turkey or chicken) and a cheese stick and roll it up and it is VERY filling! That way I get the pickle that I want with the protein that I need. You can even put tuna (plain) and it still taste pretty good.

    So..

I have had to do this many times actually....I ate chicken and then tried to eat it the next day as leftover and it was not settling with my pouch at all. Same thing happened with steamed brocoli one time too. It seems like my pouch does not handle anything heated up in the micowave. I think it makes it too dry. I also was bad and ate some movie theatre popcorn and had to do the same thing. No body should judge anyone on here. We are all here to help eachother out not to put someone down. The only thing I worry about with you, myself and anyone else in here...could this lead to an eating disorder where we eat what we are not supposed to and then go throw it up? I have read lots of articles where this does happen to some people. I feel like being aware of it makes it less likely for it to happen.
