  4. When I started I just called the insurance company and asked what the requirements were for them to cover it. They gave me a bunch but it seems like the main on was six months of consecutive weight in visits with your pcp. The. The surgeons office confirmed that is what was needed. Mine also was a high BMW with no other major health issues such as (diabetics, high blood pressure etc.) maybe yours just approved?
  5. Thinking of you tomorrow!

  7. That is wonderful for you!
  8. Ok so I would like some of your opinions I thought that could do 5 appointments with my pcp land the 6th would be with the surgeon (phsych, nutrition and so on) but I have one more with my pcp, which is fine. This is the time line I am looking at July I have my last appoint with pcp and then the surgeon and so surgery could get sched. estimating in Aug or Sept. This is my non-surgical sched. First week of Aug orientation for Grad school. Third week of Aug 3 day short vacation. September classes start ( not sure on exact date but I will only go one weekend a month) Hope some of you are still with me I will have no problem on getting short-term disability whenever I will need. Also I know that recovery is individual. But if I don't do this towards the end of Aug (hoping that classes are starting in September) then I more than likely will have to wait till end of semester which is December. Another four months (which I absolutely would rather not wait) So there is the delemia go for it for the end of aug and suffer through the first semester of school? Or wait till Dec I think that I could deal with the pain and being home from work could actually work to my benefit for school, but then again will starting a "new life" be all consuming? Ok there it is guys, my mind is all over. 1,2,3 GO!

  17. Had my my 5 of 6 appointment. My pcp is thinking that I might be able to have my surgery mid-end of July she is filling all the paperwork out from when I started seeing her. Great news for me I thought due to insurance and my schedule that I might have to wait till Dec to have it. So making the phone call to the surgeons office tomorrow and hopefully the dietician and psych appointment left. What a relief my 38th bday is end of Oct and I wanted it down before then. Happy me Happy me
  18. Everyone post op talks about chewing and taking a long time to eat so little food. I am assuming for the most part a large portion of us eat way to much to fast. Most diet plans talk about putting the fork down between bites, chewing your food thoroughly each bite. So on nd so forth. I know that is one of my biggest problems eating wy to much then feeling stuffed after meals How long did it take all of you to get use to new habits. And is that effect of what everyone talks about with the dumping or vomiting after meals? Thanks for your help.
  19. I have not had the bypass surgery yet but two years ago I had the gull bladder out and it took months before they we "normal" its my our body adjusting
  20. She could be envious, that you won't be her "fat" friend anymore. If it would be that easy then she would or we would not be the sizes we are. When I told my best friend she is 60 lbs+ over weight and she was saying she would have it too but that she could lose it. Everyone is different and you will get different responses from everyone. When I told my mom she had nothing negative to say. Where I thought she would some of my coworkers are very against it and believe the same as your friend. But will still support me. You have all of us no matter what
