  1. 7 weeks post surg tomorrow and was down 50 lbs as of Sunday!
  2. Mami! So much going on . Sending some good health vibes your way...
  3. Maybe try a different brand in a few days if you feel up to it? It is a " safe food" in general. I had no sugar added musselmand and it made me feel a little yucky. I found motts natural to be better. Sometimes things like sugar alcohol can bother you. Good luck !
  4. We just took our annual summer trip and I wasn't able to enjoy some theme park treats but on a happy note, I did enjoy the rides. I also miss partaking in our Saturday night summer ice cream rides after dinner. My 5 and 3 year old girls keep trying to share with me . I have a girls night out coming up - that will be interesting because we all used to drink and enjoy sharing apps and desserts. With all that being said, being 50 lbs lighter since surgery and 94lbs lighter than highest weight means more than any food
  5. So so sorry hear . Very glad you were on top of it and are on the mend. Thank you for sharing the details. It's important info!
  6. My highest weight was 420 the day my son was born last October. I was 376 the day I returned home from the hospital and I started counting from there. I wanted to track from my home scale. Guess its personal preference where you start from . Wow.... Just realized I weigh 94 lbs less today than 10 months ago!!
  7. You would have been mortified if they split instead of falling down . Great story!!
  8. My surgery was June 21 and I hit 50lbs today!!!! So proud and had to share. Now I get to book that facial and massage I promised myself when I hit this milestone!!
  9. Went to two kids theme parks last week. Fit in most rides comfortably and walked all day without a problem!
  10. Ready? Catch! Just threw a big hug your way. I think we've all had the WTFs. Everyone finds their personal way to cope. My mantra is no food is as important to me as living a long and fulfilling life with my kids. You will feel better in time. I will be 7 weeks post op on Thurs and I have lost 50 lbs. I feel better than ever! Went out to dinner to tonight and had a little bit of my husbands salad, 2 small meatballs, a couple of bites of roast chicken and a couple of bites of thin crust pizza. Felt satisfied and like I was part of the family again. You will get there!
  11. Glad to hear you are on the mend. Hope it's smooth sailing for you !
  12. Look at you!! Such confidence! Well done
  13. I am anemic - have to take iron twice a day... Maybe that's it. Called dr today - said its common but if still an issue at next months appt - the blood work may show something
  14. As anyone else noticed a change in the color if their poop? Having tan sometimes gray clay colored poop. Went online and learned it could be a bile/liver problem. Going to call doctors office today but was curious if anyone else is experiencing this. Thanks!
  15. I think it's normal to be apprehensive and grieve food. It's been a big part of your life and suddenly something's are gone. When I start to feel sad, I think about how sad it would be for my three children to go through life without a Mom. That is more powerful to me than anything. My mantra is " no food is as important as a good, long life with my kids". I say that toys elf multiple times a day. Good luck!!
  16. I was icing cupcakes yesterday and licked a big chunk off my hand without even thinking about it. I realized what I did right away but had already swallowed it. I waited for dumping but nothing happened. I felt fine. That scares me more. Has anyone else found that they can tolerate things like this and how do you deal ?
  17. I use a Nalgene sippy cup. It controls the flow and is a manageable size. Fill it up 5-6 times a day. It holds 12oz. I also like that I can fill it with ice as I like drinks to be super cold
  18. Someone told me to use a pet shampoo called Tame and Tail and to take biotin. My dr agreed with the biotin, laughed about the shampoo, and also said keep up the protein and supplements. Hair health starts on the inside.
  19. Maybe there is an alternative for you? I have to take a pill, Ursodiol, for 2 months to keep gall bladder healthy. On lots of supplements but it's on. Don't like the calcium pill but I ordered some chews as an alternative. Good luck!
  20. I've tried to think about food now as fuel - focusing on protein, rather than a reward or something desirable. There have been moments of craving but I come back to my personal mantra... No bite or taste of food is as important as a future with my children. That's it - pretty simple but it's keeping me focused.
  21. Welcome Chevy and congrats on both your surgery and upcoming wedding. So many exciting things lie ahead for you! How are you doing thus far? I'm 4 weeks post op
  22. Found this great app for smartphone users. You can set up what you want (protein) and what you don't want (added sugar) and it will give you a food score, quick list of nutrients, and alternatives. You can also scan barcodes. Super helpful in the soup aisle yesterday. I scanned a can of soup and it gave me a quick list of better options. Also very helpful for allergies. Tells me quickly which products contain egg ( my son is allergic). Eat well!
  23. I love the idea of a 24 hour center. I would go at midnight LOL. I joined Boston Sports Club. They offer babysitting and I saved a little since my husband is a member. Going to get started with cardio then meet with a trainer for a fitness eval. They offer a 4 session startup with a trainer. I need someone to show me how to do targeted work on upper arms, thighs, butt, and tummy. Got the go ahead fromm surgeon this past week.
