    Curious?

You made my day!! Especially since I just ate my stinkin cream of wheat too fast and have had that horrible feeling in my chest. Anyway, I will definitely let you know when I'm cleared for real food. Ok so what about Mexican and Italian (in Sicilian)! Just kidding...everything is sounding good right now since I can only have full liquids. :-p

    Curious?

You don't know how happy I am to see this thread!! I LOVE Indian food and pre op, would go with coworkers to our little favorite hole in the wall. I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to enjoy it post op. I'm only 8 days out so not yet, but I am definitely going to make your recipe. I would love the recipe for rotis too. I need to figure out how to healthy Thai too. Thanks!

Glad you're feeling better today. If it makes you feel any better, I've been nauseous the past two days too. Maybe for a different reason, but you're not alone!! Finally starting to get my shoulder pain under control and now nausea. Blah!!

    Turkey Jerky

  7. Hello, I'm 7 days post-op and I've been on full liquids. Starting today, I need to add two Protein supplements daily (~ 8oz. each). Just wondering if you count your supplements towards your required daily Fluid intake. I already feel like I'm drowing with 64oz. a day. The thought of having to drink 16oz. more is troubling! Thanks!

    Turkey Jerky

Wow, we are close! I was supposed to have my surgery at the same hospital with Dr. Suh, but my insurance wouldn't approve me having it at Inland Valley. I ended up going to Sharp Memorial in San Diego and Dr. Mueller is my surgeon. It all worked out because Sharp is an amazing hospital with nice private rooms, and I love my surgeon and his staff. I had been attending the support groups in Murrieta pre-op and will split my post-op groups between Murrieta and San Diego. Did Dr. Suh do your surgery or someone else? Have you ever gone to the support groups in Murrieta or do you go to Corona?
  9. Thanks for your responses. I see my nutritionist on Wednesday for my post-op appointment, so I will ask her. I'm sure the fluid intake will get easier as I get further out.

OUCH!! Why didn't your doctor numb it first? That's crazy! Being in pain and having an infection is no fun. I hope you're back on the mend and feeling better soon!
  13. Ugh, that's what I'm afraid of! Surely I will drown with 80 oz of fluids!!

    Turkey Jerky

Hey Jenn, where in So Cal are you? I'm in Temecula. I can't have regular food yet, but I was also thinking jerky might be a good source of Protein especially when I'm on the go. I agree, costco has good turkey jerky and it's usually moist. In addition to Trader Joe's, Henry's/Sprouts or Barron's might have it too in smaller quantities.

    I Love To Cook!

Maggie, that's the blogger! I love her and I believe she actually lives here in my town. Even my nutritionist and nurse said that since we can't eat very much, we might as well make it taste good. I'm trying not to look at many recipes right now since I am still a ways out from normal food, but I will definitely look for ways to make our meals healthier and pouch-friendly. I don't want to cook two dinners every night. Maria Surgery 9/10/12

    I Love To Cook!

I love to cook too. I will still cook, but I plan to make healthier food for my family that we can all enjoy. I bought a cookbook and follow a WLS blogger that both have some great recipes. I can't wait until I'm far enough out to make some new things. I think the slowcooker will be a great way to make moist meat.
