    Friday Weigh-In!

Congrats everyone on your weightloss! I've been stuck on a 1 month plateau...but im happy to report today that is not the case anymore. Yay! Day of surgery: 220. (April 3) Today. 170. So that's 50 lbs in almost 3 months. Not too bad I suppose. Again great job everyone. I love how positive and supportive everyone is on here.
  2. I just had it dialiated to 15 mm last friday. So far it's done the trick...hoping it lasts this time.
  3. As far as the stricture....for me whemever I would eat. Even after 1 very small bite...no matter how good I chewed...it would feel stuck in my throat. It never would go down...it would just sit there. Eventually I would get so uncomfortable I would force myself to throw up if. As far as the ulcer.......anything that did somehow pass I would have terrible pain in my pouch. I'm feeling better now and am ale to swallow somewhat better due to dilatations and meds, Just hope this was the last procedure I have to have.
  4. I had my 4th endoscopy done yesterday. Dr said my ulcer is healed but I still had the stricture so he dilated to 15mm. Hopefully it helps. I so want to feel normal again.
  5. So sorry to hear that Angela. Keep your spirit up. I know it's hard...but I truly believe that the lord will never put more on you than you can handle...and when you think you've had all you can take...pray and tell him. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep me updated on how it's going!
  6. Thanks panda. I appreciate your support. Yes Angela.....I felt the same way when I saw your initial posts. It feels good knowing someone can relate even though you feel bad they are having such a hard time. I've also been in the hospital 3 times since the surgery and am about to have my 4th endoscopy. It sucks....and I keep telling myself it will get better. As for the nexium....they put me on 40 mg two times per day. I have to take it 30 mins before meals. The gi dr said not to get the generic...that it wasn't as potent. You should check into it!
  7. I was on the same thing they gave you and I went to see a gi specialist because I was tired of not seeing any relief or results regarding this issue with my gastric surgeon. The gi dr said they should have just prescribed me candy because the omeprazole isn't potent enough to help at all. I know how frustrating it is. Other than last night the only thing ive been able to eat is broths. The protein shakes just make me sick anymore, I still wish I hadn't had this surgery. It has been nothing but trouble since I've had it. I know it's hard to stay positive..but try as hard as you can. Ask your dr about different meds. Don't take the idea that it can never get better. If this med still doesn't work I'm not going to give up...I'm going to keep trying to find a solution because I refuse to live the rest of my life like this.
  8. Yeah it can suck......dr said mine is partially due to stomach acid. They put me on a really strong dose of nexium multiple times a day....and tonight for the first time I was actually able to eat dinner and not feel like anything was stuck. It was so nice. I almost felt normal again. I hope this continues!
  9. OKay so I used to love eggs but since my surgery...I've had real trouble eating them and now I have a taste aversion to them. I am getting burnt out on Greek yogurt and protein shakes. Anyone have any good ideas for breakfast? I am 7 weeks post opens have no restrictions.

    Breakfast Ideas

I meant post op. Sorry my iPad auto spell checks for me.
  12. I've been feeling food stuck in my throat and lower and during the last endoscopy dialation they said I had a stricture in multiple places....so if this feeling happens every time you eat or even drink than you may need to let your dr know. Hiccups and that feeling. Food being stuck are a huge sign of a stricture, don't want to scare you but I want you to be aware. Just keep an eye on it.

    Friday Weigh-In!

Last week 194. This week 189. Not too bad considering I was in the hospital. Congrats everyone on your weightloss this week!
  15. All they can do is to Just keep doing the dialation procedures. I just saw my dr and they are letting me go home today. He said my esophohas was so narrow they couldn't even get the endoscope down. They had to really dilate me and they did a brushing to get rid of some scar tissue. I was actually able to swallow solid food last night for the first time since my surgery. I just hope it lasts this time. I will have the procedure again in three weeks.
  16. Wow....so sorry to hear that. That's awful!

Wow that sucks. They did a brushing today during my endoscopy dialation where they scrape out scar tissue and I was actually able to eat dinner and drink. It was so nice...just hope it lasts. Good luck Angela. I will keep you in my prayers!

Aww hat sucks...what is your dr planning to do next?
  21. I so hear you! I just got back to my room. They did the dialation and did a scraping of my esophagus and stomach to get rid of More scar tissue about an hour ago. I also have strictures in my stomach and in my esophogas. My doctor also found a hernia this time, It just keeps getting better. I don't remember them saying any of these complications when I was going through the process. I'm ready to get this all past me. Angela are you feeling any better since the last procedure? I hope so!
