Trying Not To Regret!
I'm not sure about back pain but I had the same feeling of food stuck in my chest/ throat. For me it was a stricture and I had to have procedure to fix it. Now I get that sensation when I have ate too fast. I'm not sure which is the issue for you but if your chewing really good and taking small bites at a time and still having that situation,,,,let the doc know. It could mean a stricture and for me the stricture got worse. On week 3 after the surgery when I was supposed to be able to add purée foods...I could not because it felt stuck in my chest and eventually I would have to force myself to throw up to get rid of the food stuck there because it would be painful. Then the stricture got worse and I couldn't even swallow liquids. so be proactive about it and bug your doc if it's not getting better,

Trying Not To Regret!
I had bad buyers remorse my first two months. it does get better. I had a lot of complications my first couple months and I really thought it wouldn't get better. I was hospitalized twice for dehydration and had to have 3 endoscopies to dilate my esophagus and pouch due to strictures. I am now 5 months out and feel much more normal. I'll admit it will never be the same, but I've learned what I can handle. like I said in another post...I can eat some of the things I used to love...now I know how to set boundaries for myself. You will do the same. just know it does and will get better and you will be happy with the decision.

My Birthday Next Week, Need Ideas
I've been able to eat cake post op....about an one inch by 2 inch piece or the size of a small cupcake. I've had carrot cake and vanilla cake with the whipped topping. I just made sure to eat protein with it. No problems with dumping. I wouldn't recommend it daily....but it was a special occasion like yours. hope that helps! Ps...I'm 4 months post op.

Thoughts On Watermelon And Tortillas

Fast Food Examples Needed
I'm a little over three months post op and I can do salads just fine with no troubles. I haven't tried a fried type...but I'm sure the grilled salad from Zaxbys would be fine.

New Here :) 8Yrs Post-Op
I heard Carnie Wilson Phillips is having a revision. I heard her talking on Dr. Oz and she had RNY...and now they are going to put a Lapland around the pouch somehow. I guess there are many ways you can get a revision.

Cliff Bars And Isopure Drinks
Has anyone had cliff bars or isopure drinks? If so, did you dump with them or have any issues? Are they good? Both has a good amount of protein but I don't want to try another product without someone giving me their take on it. I've wasted so much money trying different protein shakes, drinks, shots, bars. any info would be greatly appreciated!

Feeling Of Food Sitting In Throat?
As far as the stricture....for me whemever I would eat. Even after 1 very small bite...no matter how good I chewed...it would feel stuck in my throat. It never would go down...it would just sit there. Eventually I would get so uncomfortable I would force myself to throw up if. As far as the ulcer.......anything that did somehow pass I would have terrible pain in my pouch. I'm feeling better now and am ale to swallow somewhat better due to dilatations and meds, Just hope this was the last procedure I have to have.

Feeling Of Food Sitting In Throat?
I had my 4th endoscopy done yesterday. Dr said my ulcer is healed but I still had the stricture so he dilated to 15mm. Hopefully it helps. I so want to feel normal again.

Feeling Of Food Sitting In Throat?
So sorry to hear that Angela. Keep your spirit up. I know it's hard...but I truly believe that the lord will never put more on you than you can handle...and when you think you've had all you can take...pray and tell him. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep me updated on how it's going!

Feeling Of Food Sitting In Throat?
Thanks panda. I appreciate your support. Yes Angela.....I felt the same way when I saw your initial posts. It feels good knowing someone can relate even though you feel bad they are having such a hard time. I've also been in the hospital 3 times since the surgery and am about to have my 4th endoscopy. It sucks....and I keep telling myself it will get better. As for the nexium....they put me on 40 mg two times per day. I have to take it 30 mins before meals. The gi dr said not to get the generic...that it wasn't as potent. You should check into it!

Feeling Of Food Sitting In Throat?
I was on the same thing they gave you and I went to see a gi specialist because I was tired of not seeing any relief or results regarding this issue with my gastric surgeon. The gi dr said they should have just prescribed me candy because the omeprazole isn't potent enough to help at all. I know how frustrating it is. Other than last night the only thing ive been able to eat is broths. The protein shakes just make me sick anymore, I still wish I hadn't had this surgery. It has been nothing but trouble since I've had it. I know it's hard to stay positive..but try as hard as you can. Ask your dr about different meds. Don't take the idea that it can never get better. If this med still doesn't work I'm not going to give up...I'm going to keep trying to find a solution because I refuse to live the rest of my life like this.

Cold Food
- Feeling Of Food Sitting In Throat?
Yeah it can suck......dr said mine is partially due to stomach acid. They put me on a really strong dose of nexium multiple times a day....and tonight for the first time I was actually able to eat dinner and not feel like anything was stuck. It was so nice. I almost felt normal again. I hope this continues!- Breakfast Ideas
Thanks for the suggestions everyone- Breakfast Ideas
I meant post op. Sorry my iPad auto spell checks for me.- Breakfast Ideas
OKay so I used to love eggs but since my surgery...I've had real trouble eating them and now I have a taste aversion to them. I am getting burnt out on Greek yogurt and protein shakes. Anyone have any good ideas for breakfast? I am 7 weeks post opens have no restrictions.- Feeling Of Food Sitting In Throat?
I've been feeling food stuck in my throat and lower and during the last endoscopy dialation they said I had a stricture in multiple places....so if this feeling happens every time you eat or even drink than you may need to let your dr know. Hiccups and that feeling. Food being stuck are a huge sign of a stricture, don't want to scare you but I want you to be aware. Just keep an eye on it.- "oh, How I Miss You...."
