  1. has anyone had any marital problems since having surgery? I am one year post op..lost 102 lbs...am currently a size 6 and am finally feeling good about myself. for the past 4 months though...my husband has gotten very jealous....started picking fights...and the other day had the audacity to call me stitch due to my having scars from my RNY surgery and previous open gallbladder and open heart surgery. He doesn't see how that was hurtful and has only apologized sarcastically. I'm trying to save this marriage.....but I can only take so much. So..... If you did have problems...what did you do? I need advice!
  2. Good I'm glad. She will be the first person to admit that she ate whatever she wanted when she wanted. She did not try to watch her weight. I think she had a hard time dealing because her husband was deployed during her entire pregnancy and birth...he got to come home for a week for R and r after she was born and he has already left again. So if you just stick to the diet the dr gives you and not splurge too much,,,you would be okay
  3. Awesome results! Keep it up!
  4. I had it before my surgery. I just had a friend though that had a baby post op. she got pregnant right after her one year post op visit and she had a healthy pregnancy and her baby was born very healthy.
  5. Thank you so much! It is my goal. My dr would be happy to see me at 115 to 120. For my height that is the average weight. I'm very short. I have had several stalls. I was stuck at 145 for months. I really had to kick up the exercise. I'm still not exercising as much as I should...it's been hard with grad school...working full time..and being a mom to a two year old. I'll get to my goal eventually..I'm just glad I'm healthy...finally!
  6. One year out from surgery. Starting weight 234.....today 132. Still have 20 lbs I want to lose. So close to my goal I can taste it!
  7. Bought my first pair of single digits sized pants...yay!!!! So proud of myself!
  8. Awesome! Good luck on your surgery
  9. That's awesome! And thanks!
  10. Thanks everyone and congrats on all your progress too!
  11. Post op 6 months. Starting weight 220...current weight 145.
  12. That's awesome...it's hard sometimes to not want the stuff that isn't good for you when everyone around you is eating it. Like at parties and such. I had my surgery a week before Easter nd going to the family dinner and having to drink broth was just depressing...but now I feel much better about it. I hardly ever do anything I would consider a bad choice but it's nice to know that every once in awhile I can treat myself. I too try out new foods and like you.l.sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I defiantly think this is a journey and I'm glad we have this forum to lean on each other and share our experiences. When others in my family don't know how I'm feeling...it's nice to get on here and hear from people who do.

    Trying Not To Regret!

I'm not sure about back pain but I had the same feeling of food stuck in my chest/ throat. For me it was a stricture and I had to have procedure to fix it. Now I get that sensation when I have ate too fast. I'm not sure which is the issue for you but if your chewing really good and taking small bites at a time and still having that situation,,,,let the doc know. It could mean a stricture and for me the stricture got worse. On week 3 after the surgery when I was supposed to be able to add purée foods...I could not because it felt stuck in my chest and eventually I would have to force myself to throw up to get rid of the food stuck there because it would be painful. Then the stricture got worse and I couldn't even swallow liquids. so be proactive about it and bug your doc if it's not getting better,
