  1. I am or I was between 2 programs. The nutritionist I was seeing, on my last visit, tried to convince me the band was now working despite being unfilled and why would I want a revision?? I was slightly ticked since I have had weight gain, SEVERE reflux, dilatation and a slipped band. I was dumbstruck! Why would I change my mind now that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!! If I have to go back to school myself, I will teach myself what I need to know nutritionally speaking.

    Time In Hospital?

Since my kids are older and my job secure, I am taking as long as possible to build my routine before going back to work.

    Sooo Dry!

MOM is an old method doctors used in healing wounds and skin. It could work.

John, I would cut the carbonation and caffiene out now so you don't miss it later. I haven't had soda in months and only rarely have caffeine in my tea at work. It does make a difference. I'm so happy for those who have dates. And jealous! But mine is coming

    Digestive Problems

Hopefully it's just your body adapting but I would keep on the docs about it. You know your body better than anyone else.

    Explain Chicken Broth

For something different, you can also make vegetable beef and strain it. Homemade definitely has less salt.
  18. I too am a failed lapband and no one wants to hear that! I have since decided that it wasn't the tool I needed to be completely successful. Definitely came to the right place. The stories of failed bands is plenty and you are not alone. Welcome and good luck!
  19. So I got to meet my new surgeon yesterday. My employment has a special clause that says "all Bariatric surgeries will be done at..." So even though I was in a WONDERFUL program, if I want to be revised, I must switch. Not very happy about that since the follow up and guidance is really poor with my hospital vs the competitors hospital (btw, they carry the blue center of distinction from bcbs). Anyway, I refuse to stop defeated so forward we go. Plus the best news ever is that after surgery I can return to my program. I'm feeling special!! Fast forward, I met her and she is nice and supportive of my revision. I was worried that she would see my continued weight loss as a cure and the band would not need to be removed despite my severe reflux, slight dilatation, and now slipping (which is what I thought happened but could never prove!) and she doesn't want to wait for surgery. So EGD is scheduled and we meet again may 17th to see what insurance says (which I hope isn't a problem, I have looked at policy and it should go through but never know with them!) Then I get my date! It's been a long road but the light at the end is getting brighter!!! Just wanted to share with my friends here.

    Just An Update

Turning in my psych eval this morning but doubt I will have my date Thursday. Although maybe she will schedule without approval
  21. For those who have revised or will be, did any one have to repeat the psychology testing? Just wondering. I was banded in 2008 and am hoping that's not too long ago for my bc/bs insurance. The surgeon wasn't sure either. It's not like I'm worried that I will be deemed crazy this time (although there are days!) I'm just trying to plan ahead. I had to switch programs and that evaluation must have some top secret information since I'm having some difficulty in getting it transferred with the rest of my file
