    Protein Help

The unjury chix soup powder is suppose to be mixed with water only (luke warm water...can't be boiling water). They do sell a flavorless Protein Powder that you can add to any liquid...no taste. Neither powders make anything thick. If you mixed the chix soup powder with soup...you're probably right...that's why it was gross...lol

    Constipation Anyone?

I have had the same problem. I spoke with my nutritonist and she suggested miralax, but also said your body should begin to get accustom to your "new" diet and the constipation should subside. One thing that has really helped me is getting in my daily fruit. It seems to get the system flowing...lol. l found that when l had two protein shakes a day l was more apt to become constipated so i cut down to one a day.

    Is It True

The doctors said the first year the weight loss is generally the result of the surgery. Year 2 the weight loss is all you. Therefore it's imperative that you learn how to eat healthy during that first year. It is very easy to start putting the weight back after the first year.

    Post-Op Discomfort

I think the hardest thing for me was sleeping at night. I sleep on my stomach and for the first week could not do that due to the discomfort. I actually slept in my recliner. As far as walking, my doctor had me up walking 6 hours after surgery and then every two jours after that to prevent blood clots. Everyone heals at different rates. Don't get discouraged...every day will get easier!

The surgery went great! Surgery on a Thursday & I felt 100% by Monday. The nurse told me I'm not the norm. I can honestly say l have had no problems except the occasional constipation which is never fun.

    Confused & Worried

Hang in there...l am experiencing similar things. I had surgery on april 12. I have no problem eating. The fullness l thought l would feel l dont always feel. I make a conscious decision to stop eating. Some foods have made me sick like peanut butter. Sometimes l think may eat too fast and dont give myself a chance to feel full. Beside the weight loss sometimes l dont feel like l had the surgery. I have a difficult time getting all my fluids in. I have to get into a better routine. You mentioned headaches...that could be a side effect of not drinking enough. Good luck!
  11. Same here...had my surgery on april 12 and peanut butter has not sat well with me...tried it 3 times and each time madee sick.

    Still In Hospital

Bernie....Happy to hear you're doing well! That's great...l noticed you said you had diet.snapple ice tea...that is one of my favorite drinks, but my nutritionist said l couldn't drink it for several weeks following my surgery because of the caffeine? But if the hospital gave it to you I'm going to ask her again.

    Hi! I'm Hollie!

If you like chicken soup there is a great chix soup protein powder you can buy online called unjury. I love it. You mix it with 8 ounces of water and it's 20 grams of protein. Quick & easy & very tasty! They also sell a powder with no flavor that you can mix with anything that is 20 grams too. My doctor suggested it because l was having trouble getting in all my protein.
  14. Hi Erin & Christine...My name is Tammy and l had my surgery on April 12, so I'm around the same time as both of you. One more week of liquids...can't wait to move on to the next stage...growing really tired of broth, protein shakes, jello, etc. I need to chew..lol. good luck on your journeys!
