  3. Stay strong sweets just think July 3rd is right around the corner......I'm doing a happy dance for you! your not alone in your concerns and fears! My new "birthday" as I like to think of it as march 26 2012.....please don't hesitate to reach out to us.....my door is always open if u ever feel the need to chat....fuss....have questions or just need to connect.....I wish I had discovered this site sooner especially before my surgery! We have so much support...inspiration....and just an incredible amount of info it's amazing....
  4. I hope your surgery went well! And I thought ur post was awesome if you don't mind I'd like to add a few myself...... Things I do not miss or do not take now for granted....... - seriously analyzing something I'm may try to sit on and think....will my hips fit and if they do will it support my weight and than just end up giving up and stay standing.. - trying to get behind the wheel of my car with out losing a serious war...wether it's me fighting to get behind the steering wheel or if I sit far enough back to fit behind it can my arms now reach it lol....and than we follow that up with the seat belt war lol.... - even though I've always been a shower kind of person taking a nice hot soak every once in a while would of been nice but yeah these hips either wouldn't fit or ended up stuck... -and I absolutely positively can't stand the whole she's big but she has a pretty face statements..... -being able to sit on the floor without my legs going numb from the pan weight resting on my thighs cutting off serious circulation....and we won't even discuss trying to than get up off the floor..... - being hot 24/7 I don't care if its was snowing outside I'd be still either sweating or somewhat comfortable
  5. I can't imagine how nerve wrecking it must of been waiting in pre-op like you did just to have to reschedule. Sending u big hugs and lots of positive vibs bring on July 8!

  7. Such a good idea I'm gonna have to try too..........its sounds yummmmmmy
  8. To be put under the microscope like that in front of the whole class must have been awful especially when you had nothing but good intentions trying to help lap-band girl…..And I agree with many of the others responses I only tell those that really need to know kind of thing otherwise I’m gonna get 10 different opinions from Tom, Dick and Harry and then you have some that no matter what you do or say it isn’t ever gonna be ok. So my new motto after having RnY is as long as the man upstairs and I are good all is good in the neighborhood
  9. Just like Catgyrl68 mentioned the only difference I had was I filled out a questionaire with like 50 questions asking me things like........I think its ok to hurt myself....check yes or no......its ok to for others to hurt me..........check yes or no............I think its ok to take someone elses prescribed medication......check yes or no...........that kind of thing...I was so stressed out about saying something wrong or somehow giving off the wrong impression and really it was so freakin easy it was almost funny cause I had myself so worked up! We pretty much just chatted like two old girl friends going over what the surgery was about and what I expected to get out of it and just stuff like that.....I know its easier said than done but try not to stress or work yourself up to much this I think was one of the more easier hurdles to pass.....please keep us posted on how things go
  10. I had heard of these chips and saw some info on a youtube vid and would love to try.....do they list a website to order from since I have no costco near me....at least I don't think I do lol......I'll have to check again....anyway thanks for sharing and I agree seaweed is an awesome green super food and I find that after my surgery I don't want or even crave anything sweet what I want is something salty
  11. Hello shrncir01 and ...........WELCOME!!!!! I know you mentioned that this surgery is something that you have really thought about back and forth and I do believe for good reason. Having this surgery is not only a big operation but a huge life change and in my journey the good has far far far did I mention far lol outweighed the cons! I honestly have to say that this is the greatest gift I could of ever given myself….my family……and everyone I come into contact with. I only regret not being able to do this sooner but hey I’m not complaining I just so very thankful that I was able to finally have it done. Please keep us posted on your journey this site is filled with so many loving, caring and extremely helpful individuals. Plus, the extraordinary amount of helpful information is mind boggling lol and whatever you can’t find all you need to do is ask. If you have any question or concerns or just wanna fuss feel free to message me
  12. woohoo that is great news!! Yes and I too hope you have a speedy recovery....happy healing and holidays
  13. You look absolutely stunning! And I don’t know about you but I find myself rather enjoying the feel of a snug pair of jeans now….. instead of feeling like I’m about to bust out of them as I once did…..now I find myself enjoying how it hugs in all the right spots again you look awesome and congrats!
  14. crc0710 that is awesome I am so happy for you!! I can't wait to see your pics I about fell out of my chair when I put my before surgery pic next to my now 100lbs lighter pic about a week ago....it is a beautiful feeling and just think this is just the beginning
  15. Looking great congrats!
  16. Hey snow25, well I'm about a hop....skip....and a jump from North eastern NC. I lived in Edenton for a couple years and than in Elizabeth City for another couple and now we are in Chesapeake VA.
  17. Hey jnygrl excited for you and your first outing! The best advice I came across in all my reading with our surgery was to let your server know to bring you a to go box as soon as you get your meal and you can box up all but what you know will fit into your pouch that way you don’t feel overwhelmed by the mountain of food that they will serve. Mentally we know we can’t only eat but so much but it’s hard to keep from feeling guilty when it just staring at you on the plate so I always end up with two and three meals if not more lol. Hope you have a great time! Let us know how it goes…. J
  18. Have you tried any other methods of protein besides shakes like.....hmmm.....like protein shots and the wafers (both I found at Wal-Mart) or they have these really cool 1oz protein "candy" jello shots I first came across these at my surgeons office I just got my first shipment yesterday and heck for 1oz of jello I get 15gm of protein and 100cal they are awesome....if I can think of anything else i'll throw it up here
  19. yeah adding some fruit to those shakes can really help change it up just try to be careful with fruits that naturally have higher contents of sugar like • Plums• Oranges• Kiwifruit• Pears• Pineapple• Tangerines• Cherries• Grapefruit• Pomegranates• Mangoes• Figs• Banana• Dates• Raisins• Dried Apricots• Prunes Just to name a few but don’t get me wrong if you can eat even just a little enjoy it! The last thing I would ever wish on anyone is to suffer from dumping but I find I can still enjoy a nibble of a few things that do contain some sugar

Hey Dawn… I hope that the solo sessions help! I don’t know if it’ll help any to know but I was an emotional wreck the last couple weeks leading up to my surgery I can’t even tell you how many times I would apologized to my hubby and thanked him for dealing with it so well J
  21. 30lbs! that is awesome congrats its still mind boggling to me that the scale keeps going south when for so long prior to my RnY my scaled loved to yo-yo....
