    Not A Single Pound Lost

I think one of the worse things we can do is compare our weightloss with everyone elses. I agree with DL.....how do you feel, 5 pounds a week is unreal compared to diets we've all been on before this surgery. You're doing awesome! I human too and it's so natural to want to compare or check out the losses. When I find myself doing that....I change it up and remind myself this isn't a race, this is my life....and I'm going to do the best I can. I can't see the finish line yet but, I sure know I'm going in the right direction Keep up the great work!

    Help....last Few Days Food

If that's happening it can be a few things. Make sure you are chewing and chewing well. Chew it down to mush and make sure it's moist before swallowing. Some foods won't agree with you...is it the same one giving issues? If you take one bite more than your stomach can hold....up it will come. Eat slowly, and wait a few minutes between bites. Your pouch needs time to know something is in there. If you're doing all of the above and it's still happening...best to call your doctor to make sure there isn't a stricture forming. Hope you feel better soon!

    Ng Tube?

I didn't have one with the RNY. I had one when my lapband came out...hated it! I didn't realize some folks had one in with the RNY. Did your doc say why?

    Liquid Diet Kudos!

The headaches are caused from sugar/carb withdrawal. They should get better after a few days. Definitely keep up with your Water intake as well. Sometimes drinking broth or Soup helps with the headache because of the sodium in them. I didn't have to do a liquid diet before my surgery but, I did do one anyway for three days before. I wanted to make sure my liver was in the best shrunken state it could be in so it would be easier for my surgeon.

    What Should I Buy?

Definitely find a few Protein shakes that you like. It's a good start. You may not want them after the surgery but, you have to start somewhere so find a few now. Check out your nutritionist recommendations for the food stage you'll be on when you get home. I used my list and took it to the grocery store to stock up on things I could have when I got home. This allowed me not to have to worry about goign to the store or sending someone else out there to get it for me. I was on liquids but, was able to have lowfat cottage cheese, SF pudding and SF Jello, lowfat chicken or beef broth, SF popsicles, Protein Shakes, low sugar or SF cranberry juice, decaf coffee, decaf tea, skim milk......think that's about it. But after surgery I barely wanted any of it.

    Need Advice

You're happiness is your own doing. If he makes you happy I see no reason why you can't date him especially since you knew him first and SHE dumped him.

Maestra - Sounds like you already have a plan on getting back to basics. I think every now and then it's good for us to do that actually. Drinking shakes instead of the cafeteria food is definitely a great start. It will definitely help to shrink the pouch again too.

    1St Round Of Appts. Check!

It's usually after all your appointments have been met that they give you a surgery date. Then need to give you one because they put that on the paperwork to submit to the insurance company. if the insurance company doesn't approve it right away and the office can't submit what the insurance wants in time then the surgery is pushed off to another date. That's what happened to me. Then the insurance approved it once all their requirements of paperwork were met. The second date stuck and I was on my way.

    Packing My Bags

Congrats......wishing you the best with your surgery. Let us kow how you're doing. Don't really need to bring much with you. There will be lots of sleeping and hopefully walking...the more walking the better. Comfy clothes going in can be the same comfy clothes going home with exception of underwear of course. Good luck! You're going to do great!

    The Scale Is Stuck????????????

2 weeks isn't considered a plateau yet but, there are things you can do. Go back to basics.....make sure you're logging all your food intake and Water intake. Change up your exercise. Make sure you're getting enough sleep. Watch the food you are eating...is it higher in carbs now versus when you started. If so adjust it and back off on some of the carbs. Are you getting enough healthy fat and Fiber in your diet? Are you having BMs normally and regularly. It can play a part in weight fluctuations. If you're doing everything by the book and at the right amounts....keep at it and that scale will move for you.

    Rny Bracelet

tube down your throat to help you breath. They way to put no blind NG tube on your bracelet because if you're out cold and they need to breath for you they use an NG tube. It's dangerous to do it blindly for anyone not just RNY patients but, because we have a pouch not the regular stomach we're more at risk of puncture. From what I understand though...it's very difficult to get the ng tube down the wrong pipe...I think an EMT said that on here before but, in a rush it can happen. BAsically thought it is a risk doing it blindly and can puncture our pouch so it's best to let them know. My tag says: Gastric Bypass Latex Allergy No blind ng tubes Husband: (phone number) Home: (phone number) and that's it...that's my 5 lines. If you don't have all 5 lines you can put your name on the first line. For me it was more important they knew about my latex allergy than my name

    Signed.....confused....

You're welcome Chosen. I have to say that first year I sure did love my lapband....but after that it was hell. The constant fill and unfill and never getting that correct fill level was just plain nuts and depressing. To work so hard to get the weight off and see it coming back was awful. I'm now almost 2 months postop and finally feeling great and ready to rumble with this RNY Good luck and if you have any questions please feel free to message me. I'm happy to help.

    Back Pain!

Well we're on our backs the entire time during surgery and in the hospital bed. I know for me I had to get up and walk. The gas can cause issues as well. How far out are you from surgery?
