You have a port as in lapband port? Or do you mean the incisions from the surgery? You might want to call your doc. I was allergic to the tape they used to cover mine.

Savers, Salvation Army and Thrift stores are the best to buy from while losing. The day after Thanksgiving Walmart usually has jeans on special for about $10-16 bucks too.

    Food....

The PB&J ones are great. I break it in half because I can only eat half at a time. Put any of the quest bars in the microwave for about 7 seconds and they are softer and easier to eat. I have PB&J, Brownie and strawberry Cheesecake. Haven't tried the cheesecake one yet though. The others are great warmed up Great Fiber in them too!

Small world Don! How many other members do we have that want to meet? I can say one thing...if we meet up we should bring the protein, vitamins or diet foods that we tried and didn't like to see if the others would like them. I hate throwing stuff out that is still date good. I have Isopure in grape and fruit punch, Protein powder pouches unopened, B12 lozenges and a few other things I don't use. Heck I have Syntrax twisted cherry and Fuzzy Navel I opened but, only took a couple scoops from because I tried one and gave some to my neighbor because I just can't drink it. I'm willing to share that too.

    Protein Drinks ?

I use Pure Protein chocolate powder but, shake it in a Blender Bottle it has a wire Shaker Ball so I don't get lumps or clumps when I make it. The powder has 25 grams of protein when mixed with Water. I use Hoods Simply Smart skim milk and it adds 10 more grams of protein for 35 in about 8 ounces of Fluid. Yummy when it's nice and cold

    I Hate Scales

I use my scale almost daily but, I do it with the knowing that it will fluctuate! I will see gains and losses but, when I see the gain you bet I really watch what I'm doing. It basically keeps me in check. Everyone is different though.

    Hello - Missed U Guys

kiwilady...I'm glad your test came back fine and you're on the meds you need. At this point it sounds like you just need to really try. I know I didn't want to drink or eat at all and I had to make myself do it. I found the right temperature of water to drink that was right for my pouch. It wasn't easy and I had lots of cramping at first but, now it's good. Once you get hydrated again it gets easier. Eating...well that's one step at a time. I found adding some carbs back into my diet actually made me feel better. I try to make sure they are complex carbs from whole wheat vs white flour carbs and only enough to satisfy. I eat my protein first then have the carby item. Such as meat...then a small piece of potato, or a poached egg and 1 slice of low cal whole wheat toast. How far out are you from the surgery? Have you been able to get together with your nutritionist for some ideas on what to do? Hope you feel better soon!

    2Months Post Op And Gaining!

Was your eating stage changed to include solids and carbs? It's natural for the body to gain weight with that because prior to we were stuck on liquids that moved quickly through. If you're logging your intake and the cals, carbs and Protein is within the correct limits that's half the battle. Are you getting in all your Water? ARe you exercising? All factors to help get the pounds off. I just hate it when after showing your log and that you're honestly not overeating that a doctors office says you're over eating. I've read that a few times on here and it makes me wonder what center would do that to their patient. We beat ourselves up enough.....if we're truthful and we're eating right then so be it. Sounds to me like there is another issue then and they need to figure it out for you.

    What To Expect...

    Nothing Fits!

Savers and thrift stores for me as I start to lose and run out of the right size. I fortunately saved a lot of my clothes that were smaller so I can shop in my own closet. Unfortunately for me my weightloss is dragging because these antibiotics are kicking my butt. It makes it hard to get all the fluid and protein in. OH well....last night for those so hopefully I can kick up the totals for water and protein again. Congrats on your smaller closet

    To Tired

It does get better and it's much better when you get all your Protein in. Then there are days where you really do need to nap. I know I could use one today. Stressful day and it wore me out! But you do have to keep hydrated too. Are you still taking pain meds? I know those made me tired.

    Surgery Date!

Congratulations Natalie...it will be here before you know it!
  25. Some centers have more patients than they can handle. I found that with the first practice I went to with my lapband. It was crazy hard to get a fill or unfill because there were only 2 surgeons and you had to have the surgeon who did your surgery do it unless it was an emergency. So I had started the process with them for the RNY and after being left hung out to dry to find a therapist on my own. NO lists of therapists they recommend nuttin! The next center was quick, had all my appointments for me and bingo done. The only snafu was my PCP's letter and her going on vacation so I couldn't get one. It is confusing what you're going through. Does your group have a list of visits and tests you can check off as you complete them or schedule them? Mine had that and they added all the dates of my appointments to it.
