Mine was both. About 1/2 hr in person, about 1-1/2 hr fill in the bubble tests. My whole visit was pretty ridiculous. I had nothing to worry about.

WA-Seattle, Tacoma, Kitsap or King counties
Sleeveless in seattle replied to LeeB1946's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Pierce county, near tacoma...I'd be interested -
My surgeon and nut said to drink the broth of soup first, then eat the chunks. Otherwise, eat thick, chunky soup only. Same with cereal...drink milk first, then eat. Not so fun but I can live with it.

Complications
Sleeveless in seattle replied to thomas54's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say complications are the minority. If she is an X-ray tech, she probably isn't seeing the people who are doing great, they would have no reason to go in. -
Weighing in on surgery day....
Sleeveless in seattle replied to tarahuff82's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weighed in on the morning of surgery. -
Low Potassium...why?
Sleeveless in seattle replied to Preciousme123's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You're not alone. I log on my fitness pal and I'm usually only getting 1/3 of the potassium I need. Hoping it gets better as I can eat and tolerate more because I know low potassium can cause problems, -
Counting blessings. I will read every post
Sleeveless in seattle replied to LindafromFlorida's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm thankful to finally begin to be a good example of healthy eating to my daughters. Thankful that I've had no complications so far. Thankful for family and friends. Thankful for another Easter (with healthier choices haha) to celebrate our Lord's resurrection. Just thankful. -
A little help
Sleeveless in seattle replied to YOLOTEXAS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you drinking cold water? My surgeon said the first week or two that cold things could cause a stomach spasm. -

Picking New Outfits - Loving It! : )
Sleeveless in seattle replied to BackToHot's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have an entire board on pinterest of "what to wear". Most of the outfits are dream outfits for post weight loss. Lots of fun "window shopping". -
Did anyone have a reaction to the tape used when they dressed your incision?
Sleeveless in seattle replied to O-Town Body Rock's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Acetone removes the tape residue. -
Revision to DS, what insurances require less than six mos. weight management?
Sleeveless in seattle replied to NYCGIRL's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
When I was researching I found that most insurances didn't cover the DS at all. I ended up getting the sleeve which was my first choice anyways, the malabsorption of bypass and DS freaks me out a bit. Can I ask what problems you have with the sleeve that you're wanting a conversion? Always good to hear the positive and negative stories. -
Ready to drink protein shakes
Sleeveless in seattle replied to rhonda2006's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I add 1/4 cup skim milk to the chocolate, otherwise I can't stand how thick it is. Tastes like regular chocolate milk then. I add sugar free salted caramel or hazelnut Torani syrup to vanilla. I want to try raspberry syrup next time. -
3 weeks out
Sleeveless in seattle replied to Susan Beckman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You've lost 12 sizes in 3 weeks?!?! I am 4 weeks today. What you're eating sounds similar to mine except I am also doing protein shakes. They really help with the energy. Hang in there; it will get better. -
For the first time in 15 years, the number on the scale started with a 2 today!!! Granted, it was 299.2 but I'm claiming it!!! I'm exactly one month out today and have only lost 13 lbs since surgery, but I've lost 47 total since the seminar with my surgeon and I'm happy with that. Just wanted to share

2 lb weight gain overnight
Sleeveless in seattle replied to Jenny L's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgeon says your body naturally fluctuates + or - 3 pounds each day. To legitimately gain 3 lbs. you would have had to eat over 16000 calories yesterday which you know you didn't. If you would have shown down 3 pounds you probably wouldn't have give that's second thought. Don't worry and don't weigh every day. -
Easter Dinner- help
Sleeveless in seattle replied to purplegerber's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe offer to bring a side dish and "dessert" to contribute. Do they not know about your surgery? If they do know, I don't think it would be insulting to pack your own meal, though. I'm cooking this year so I'm doing everyone's traditional faves like normal and offering a few healthier options so I can eat too. -
I was at a surgery center and considered outpatient, I was checked in at 7:30am and checked out at 7:30 the next morning. Pain wasn't too bad because they doped me up but later that day and for the next 2 days was pretty bad but taking the liquid pain med was worse than the actual pain.

Almost 4 weeks post op
Sleeveless in seattle replied to Magician44's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was told to take colcase (spelling??). It's a little red gel tablet. If I haven't gone after 3 days I pop one and go within 4 hours or so. Or a cup of coffee has been known to help. -
Newly Sleeved, Too Much Liquid?
Sleeveless in seattle replied to Pretty_In_Purple's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost 4 weeks out. I've not had a problem drinking since day 5. I don't have to sip, I drink like I never had surgery. I never feel uncomfortable or gassy or any other of the complaints I often hear on here. When I eat soup, I measure it out to 1/2 cup puréed otherwise I wouldn't stop. I've had a few twinges of worry like you, especially when the scale didn't move the first few weeks after surgery. once I hit the soft food stage I knew the surgery worked. I made one egg and one egg white last night for dinner and barely ate half. I was full like I had hit a buffet! Same thing. When I tried tuna fish and ground turkey. One ounce takes me a while and I've felt like I ate a whole dinner. I know as the swelling goes down even more and my sleeve matures I will hold more food but for now, my worries are put to rest. -
Silly Hospital Clothing Questions
Sleeveless in seattle replied to SparkleCat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I brought comfy pjs but never changed. I was hooked up to the IV pole the whole time and just didn't see worth my effort. They had bariatric hospital gowns which were ginormous so I didn't need another to cover my backside. Also provided us with robes which I wore just for comfort and warmth. -
I hope you guys feel like you can always come on here for support or just to talk. My hubby is the only one who knows about my surgery so besides him I only come to the forums.

How many calories do you eat on the soft stage
Sleeveless in seattle replied to 2sissy's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements

When can i have coffee?!
Sleeveless in seattle replied to Lindsayloo1103's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine said the coffee isn't bad, it's what you put in it. I've been okay on coffee since day 4. Only tried it twice with skim milk and Splenda. So far, so good.
